Adorable boutique hotel with rich family history
by russell49ak on
My wife and I really loved our stay at Ikaki Niwas. It's a unique and beautiful hotel in Jaipur with a rich family history. The staff was very friendly, the food was exceptional, and we enjoyed spending time on the rooftop. The highlight of the stay was the cooking class with Chandrika. It was so much fun learning how to cook local fare and then getting to enjoy it. On top of that, Chandrika provided us copies of the recipes as well as a small collection of the spices used. I would highly recommend Ikaki Niwas.

My daughter and I were on a trip to India visiting the Golden Triangle, an optional trip was to go to a cookery demonstration in a local persons house. We didnt really know what to expect but we werent disappointed we had a wonderful time. We were taken to a lovely home, as we walked to their door we were greeted by a shower of flower petals from the balcony above. We were warmly greeted and then shown to the rooftop terrace, very magical, and while we watched the cooking demonstration we were served drinks and delicious hot savoury bites After the demonstration we were shown into the dining room where there was the most delicious buffet, so many delicious dishes to choose from. Our host, Chandrika, answered all our questions and joined us for the meal and spoke about how she shopped for the various foods and how they cooked fresh meals every day. We chatted and laughed and had a most memorable evening. Before we knew it, it was time to leave. We were each handed a little bag of spices to take home. As we walked out of the door, on the ground was a hand made from flower petals and the word BYE, how very special it made us feel. If you have an opportunity to go then I can highly recommend it Im sure you wont be disappointed. I love cooking and learning new ways and new dishes, if I was visiting that part of India I would definitely go again. We were travelling with Travelsphere, who I must say were excellent.

Enjoyed a wonderful stay at Ikaki Niwas in February 2020. Quiet locations next to a pretty park. Rooms were very confortable and the breakfast generous and tasty. Buffet dinner is available and this too is very tasty. Much of the food comes from JD's organic farm. Can recommend a visit to the farm and nearby village and school. Lunch is included and it was also great. Recommended!

A wonderful place to stay in busy Jaipur. From the moment we arrived to the time we left we felt that we were part of a lovely family which included the owners and staff. Being able to eat simple delicious food at the start and end of each busy day made the trip restful. Our room was well appointed and having the dining room and rooftop garden to sit out in the evening was lovely
