Rajmahal makes a statement where style and symmetry dominate. It is both a classical and a contemporary home within the walls of a royal palace. From first being conceived as a pleasure garden for a favourite Queen, this property, once on the outskirts of Jaipur and now at its core, became the British Residency, and then finally reverted back to being the private home of His Highness Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II of Jaipur.
Theirs was a family of unparalleled riches and power, indelible truths that mark the history of the Kachwaha clan, from the grand City Palace complex to the majestic Amber Fort and much more. Signs of their power are symbolized by many historical facts.
One was the gifting of the land on which sits the Taj Mahal, wonder of the world, given by the Jaipur royal family to the Mughal Emperor for the mausoleum he crafted for his beloved wife. The other significant piece of land they released to the British Crown was for Viceroys House on Raisina Hill in New Delhi, now Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Presidential Palace.
The Jaipur Column designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens commemorates that transaction; it stands tall in the forecourt of the building. This hotel is easily accessible from Jaipur Railway Station which is just 2 km away.
The other places to visit are Amer Fort (13.4 km), Jantar Mantar( 5 km), Hawa Mahal (5.5 km) and Jal Mahal ( 10 km).

Architecturally the property is a cross between traditional Rajasthan and old England sensibilities. Each room is unique and is almost a sensory overload. The main living room or the Durbar hall makes you gasp with wonderment and beauty. Food is delicious, well presented and served. Overall service itself makes you feel you belong to the era of lords and queens. With just 13 rooms, this place will make you feel special and cherished in every corridor you walk and by every smile that crosses you.

My husband and I stayed here during our stay in Jaipur. It is an absolute dream! The architecture and decor are so incredible and luxe. The food is great and the service is amazing. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in.

Apart from the very discreet matter of minutes credit card transaction at the end, you could well be Mr Mountbatten, Ms Elizabeth or Mrs Kennedy. Everything here is to command; it is not if they have it, but when you want it. The references in Gayatri Devi's "A Princess Remembers" are alas far too brief to whet expectation, but expectation is amply fulfilled. The rooms appear tended and turned down each hour; the restaurants appear physically a little rigid, but the food and manner of service more than make up. Akshay Chawla and Sidhesh run a magnificent ship, and that includes the care taken in arranging excursions, accommodating last minute changes in time and a graceful late checkout when the extravagances of Jaipur delay one's return. Like the Princess, we too shall remember.

We just got back from staying at this exquisite property and I can't stop thinking about it. The design of the hotel is absolutely dreamy. Each room in the hotel feels like a little jewel box. It is SO special and a delight to the eyes. I couldn't stop taking pictures! Aside from the aesthetics, the rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and large bathrooms. We booked a palace room but we were upgraded to the Prince of Wales suite which was such a surprise and a wonderful treat. Breakfast at the hotel is an experience and is included in the rate. From the ambience in the Pink Room to the delectable food to the impeccable service...we truly felt like royalty. They also serve High Tea every day from 4-6 and should not be missed. Last but certainly not least, I want to thank the superb staff for making our trip to Jaipur unforgettable. I never heard the word "no" from anyone. Every single person went out of their way to make us happy and feel cared for. "Would you mind taking our Diwali Card picture in 5 different locations around the property even though you are probably super busy?". We would be delighted to! "Our flight isn't until 5pm, would you mind giving us an extra late checkout if possible? Of course! "I need to pick up a Puja thali platter and don't have time to run to the bazaar. Is there anyone who could pick one up for me?"- It would be my pleasure! This level of service was truly astounding, even for India, which has some of the best hospitality in the world. I would name every single person (that I can remember) that helped us at the hotel but I know there are so many people behind the scenes that make this type of service possible so please take this review as a thank you the entire staff. There were also so many small moments of generousness and 7 star service that I can't possibly mention them all otherwise this review will be 2 pages long but just know that you guys are MARVELOUS and I can't wait to come back!!

Our stay in sujan was amazing and unforgettable. The location was breathtaking and the staff was very friendly. Especially the driver Ajit showed us Jaipur in a very courteous way. The waiter who was responsible for us, was just perfect!! Unfortunately we don't know the name of the waiter. It was a unforgettable experience. Tank you so much!
