We thoroughly enjoyed spending the evening with smita, learning about the different spices and getting 1st hand experience cooking dal, stuffed masala aubergine and chapati's! Smita and her family made us feel very welcome and it was lovely that we got to sit down afterwards and eat all of the lovely food we had made together! They have a gorgeous new puppy as well so after dinner we enjoyed cuddles with the little pup!! I would 100% recommend a cooking class with smita. We had a brilliant evening!!

Its not the first time I am here. Actually it is the 4th. I am coming back to the same place because it always feels like you stay at home. A staff is friendly, the owners make everything for to feel safe and the most important - you can trust them completely in everything what they say. No hidden interest or anything. You should try the food there. Made with care and understanding what is good food. Its nice to have dinner on the roof terrace. But after 18.00 only. Otherwise its still might be hot on the sun. They are constantly improving. Now the internet is available in all the building and even on the roof terrace. Rooms are simple but clean and one gets everything what is needed. I know where I stay when I come back to Jaipur.

We had a very good stay at Snehdeep Guesthouse in Jaipur. Owner Manoj and his wife Smita were very friendly and helpful. Manoj's knowledge about Jaipur is excellent and he has been a very good host. We also did a very good cooking demo with Smita. A very pleasant stay.

We took a cooking class with Smita, learning how to make curry, chapati's, dal, vegetable pilau and paratha's ourselves. Before starting the class, her husband cordially welcomed us into their living room, leading to very interesting discussions about India. Smita is very good at what she does, cooking only with fresh ingredients and spices. The food was delicious, and we greatly enjoyed having dinner with her and her husband. Afterwards, her husband showed us some of the guest rooms in the house. The house is amazing- family owned for a long time, and very huge. The rooms looked very spacious, with authentic furniture, and a nice rooftop terrace. We would definately stay here if we came again!

We stayed at Sneh Deep for 3 days in January and count our experience as one of the best we have had in a homestay. We were a family of 3, including a 4 yr old who is super active to say the least. Thoughout our stay, we felt like we never left home. The place is run by Manoj and Smita Kulshreshtha, both intellectually inspiring individuals and stalwarts of their fields. Manoj is a powerhouse on ornithology and ecology and comes from a lineage of scholars. He loves to share his knowledge about local ecology, history and people with his stimulating talks. We came to look forward to pre-dinner gathering in the cozy drawing room that is surrounded with precious historical artefacts and pictures. Guests from all parts of the world visit here and it was a pleasure to meet and talk (or at least attempt to talk) to people from mixed cultures in the small Indian home setting. It was like a mini world converging every evening for the most basic of human needs - conversation and food. The rooms are clean, well ventilated and sparsely decorated. The furniture is mostly traditional and the staff is helpful. It's best to let your food preferences know in advance. Personally, I loved watching the House Sparrows at the many twining creepers in their garden, chirping every morning at our breakfast time. Overall, our stay at Sneh Deep reinforced our belief in old world values and charm of a homsestay. I would prefer it anyday over a cosmetic and artificial five star hotel.
