    We decided to do a three city tour of udaipur, Jaipur and Agra to celebrate our honeymoon. We contacted Oberoi travel adviser via their website (Garima Vij) in India and ended up booking a packaged tour including their hotels in the three cities, tour guide and transport. This review is for oberoi Rajvilas (their hotel in jaipur). I have reviewed the other two hotels separately. Nice things about this place: Travel adviser: Although she is not directly related to Rajvilas, it was a pleasure to deal with her. We contacted her and changed the itinerary so many times but she dealt with all our tantrums professionally and elegantly. She along with the hotel general manager got us upgraded to a luxurious tent. Beautiful: No wonder this is one of the best hotel in the world. It's designed to be a medieval fort coloured in Jaipur colours (pink but it's not actually pink). It feels like a bird sanctuary with hundreds of peacocks. They roam around as if they own the place (they probably do!!). People always compare udaivilas (oberoi's hotel in udaipur) and Rajvilas. It's comparing apples and oranges. Udaivilas is designed as a palace and Rajvilas is designed as a medieval fort. Experience: Although we booked a packaged tour, we didn't have to worry about anything. All the planning was done by oberoi on your behalf based on your requirements and preferences. Bar: The bar is beautifully decorated and the barman (don't remember his name, sorry) is a magician when it comes to designing cocktails. They are unique but taste amazing. The must try is a green Tennessee. He can be a bar tender / manager of any bar in this world. Hospitality: I have stayed in the most amazing hotels in this world and received great hospitality but oberoi hospitality is a level above all of them. The staff put themselves in your position and think "what would I have liked if I was them" and preempt what you want. The result of that was we got everything before we asked for it; making our experience seamless. Guide: they only hire regional level guides who need to undergo courses and examinations to become a qualified guide and our guide (Hussain) was amazing and thoroughly great company! Food: In one word, it's exquisite. Special thanks to Max and Sandeep. Team work: it's unfair to single out any particular person, sorry if I have partially done that above. All departments working together to create 'magic of everything being perfect'. Attention to detail: I tried to find faults in the hotel and hospitality for fun's sake but I couldn't find one. Everything is perfect. Housekeeping: They knew that we were here for our honeymoon and the subtle additions they made to our tent was amazing. Spa: well, oberoi being oberoi it was the best spa treatment (along with the one we had in udaivilas) we have had. By the way we had Ayurvedic treatments. Keep up the amazing work ladies and gentleman, you do the oberoi brand and your country proud. Straight after our 3 city trip we stayed in a luxury 5 star hotel in Mumbai for a night for our flight to London next afternoon. We have stayed in this hotel a few times before and thought their service was excellent. But after experiencing oberoi hospitality we are not so sure. The service was good but not perfect. I don't know what to do i.e. Write a letter of complaint to oberoi to ask how dare they be so perfect or shall I praise them for being perfect?? I choose the latter.

    We were lucky enough to spend time in three Oberoi's on our recent visit to India (Guragaon and Agra being the other two). What an exceptional group of hotels. Better will not be easy to find. Rajvilas is built in an amazingly lush garden, the rooms are spread throughout so you get to enjoy a garden walk to and from your magnificent rooms. The food was superb, the staff amazing, the level of service and the friendly manner with which it is delivered is incredible. A drink and a snack in the bar/lounge and a casual chat with the General manager about wine from around the world was a highlight.

    Rajvilas is spread on about 32 acres of land. Entire area is maintained with a high standard of landscaping. The rooms are spread out and you can take a stroll to your room after refreshing breakfast/lunch/dinner or you can call a battery operated golf cart. They have two restaurants, one is multi cuisine and other one offers Indian cuisine. Both restaurants have an outdoor sitting area that's most enjoyable in this weather of December. The service is top class. Rooms are top rated. Wet area has one side full glazing opening on to an enclosed green area giving you unique experience. They claim that there are about 72 species of birds seen on the premises. During our stay, we didn't venture out and spent our time is popular site seeing but spent all the time in taking walk watching birds. Thanks to Manoj, their horticulturalist who accompanied us on our expedition enthusiastically spotting birds along with us. We spotted about 18/19 species that we could recognise and 4/5 species that we could not. If you are nature lover and passionate about birding, you can enjoy your ever minute stay here. I am aware how difficult it is to maintain this premises. Commendable job done by Abhishek and team.

    During a recent trip to Rajasthan we spent two nights in a luxury tented room at the Rajvilas; room 108 to be precise. Abbie, the general manager, made us fell so welcome. Nancy (Drew), who has a sister named Mona Lisa, was wonderful help in the gift shop. We purchased a bracelet that was in the cabinet (from Gem Palace) and Nancy had a gentleman come to the hotel from Gem Palace to help size the bracelet late in the evening. Weila provided great service in the dining room. When we crossed paths with Manoj, the groundskeeper, he asked my wife what her favorite flower was. She responded "Roses", and after dinner there were cut roses in a vase at our room! The room was one of thirteen luxery tents and it reminded us of our room at the Vanyavilas. Cudos to the staff for making our visit so memorable!!
