Treated Like Royalty ! Exceptional Service!
by SARAHDEHAYS on June 12, 2017
welcome to Jaipur, what an enchanted city, as soon as we arrived to the airport, immigration took us about 10 minutes till we were done, super fast and efficient, we had applied for electronic visas a week before traveling, Evisas are available here if you are from the listed countries. We took an Airport taxi , approved by the government, Jaipur airport is small, but organized, the taxi to our hotel was RS 750 (USD 11, AED42) very reasonable. The Oberoi Rajvillas is located around 20 minutes away from Jaipur airport, takes less time when theres no traffic. The Oberoi sits on 32 acres of land, filled with trees and exotic birds. As we approached the entrance, the staff escorted us towards the lobby, we had rose petals thrown over us and greeted with a gorgeous orange garlands and put them around our neck, what an awesome welcome! The Surya Mahal serves the best of both worlds , indian and international cuisines, I recommend the black dhal served with freshly made butter naan, the best Ive ever had! the morning breakfast spread is delicious, you get to choose from either indian breakfasts like dosa, any style eggs, or fancy some pancakes? the chef makes the fluffiest pancakes with a choice of salted caramel and bananas or chocolate and orange, I ordered the Salted Caramel of course! theres a wide selection of breakfast items on the menu, and a range of freshly made baked goods, gluten free as well! I was very impressed with the breakfast at Surya , the restaurant sits just after the main lobby, with high ceilings and hand painted flowers on the walls. The hotel architechture is based around jaipur, the pink /beige colors of the entire hotel is built in a traditional Rajasthani Fort Style. Showcasing many of the regions traditional crafts such as the lime plaster, blue tiles, stone marble carvings, brass doors and painting surrounding the walls which once belonged to the Rajput Rulers, I can go on and on about the beauty of this hotel which took my breath away. a mini pink city I call it. The Oberoi Rajvillas is built around an 18th Century Shiva temple, located in the center of the property, I was very honored in joining the hindu priest in a morning chanting and blessing session, the priest is 5th generation and has been blessing many visitors as did his ancestors before him. The Spa, an ancient Haveli (mansion) which has been restored and converted into the know Oberoi Spa, offer Ayurvedic and western massages, we obviously booked the Ayurvedic Massage, me and my friend booked a couples room (much more fun), the massage was for an hour, the treatment was perfect, just what we needed on the day we arrived. We had the premier room the Standard room, but nothing was standard about this room, It was huge, the bathroom a walk in closet (a girls dream) his and her sinks and a sunken Marble bath, a mini bar and espresso machine, complimentary tea and water, the works! cotton robes exclusively made for the Oberoi. I mean how cool is that! The bed is so comfy, cotton bedsheets I could lay in forever, a dvd selection and your own butler available 24/7 , Turn down service is twice a day! there seemed to be a gift every time we came back to the room. Anup who was in-charge while we stayed there, took extra care of us and ensured we got everything we needed, let me just say, in all my years of traveling and all my hotel stays I have never met anyone like him, his attention to detail is immaculate, while we were out on our tour, just before arriving, he had arranged a rose filled bath with bath salts and oils, and had left us a note on the bed with a handmade candle, perfection! if this isn't luxury I don't know what is, Anup you my friend are one of a kind. Me and my friend shared that bath, cos there is no way we were going to waste such a relaxing ambience, I made some tea and we just chilled, yes, I can safely say that Im a grown woman who sat in a bath tub with her friend and giggled like a 5 year old. what a great way to unwind. We had a tour of the other hotel rooms, one which made my heart flutter was the Kohinoor Villa, I fell in love with it! Anup our lovely escort showed us around this magnificent villa, spreads across 1,057 square meters, a 20 meter pool, yep! thats right 20 meter private pool, twin bedrooms and beautiful garden, usually booked for Presidents and other royals who have stayed here before. Just stunning, if only I had my wedding here ! We had a few drinks and watched a live Rajasthani dance, a beautiful indian woman danced while two men played the drums, quite entertaining, we didn't want it to stop, we watched as we had dinner, then had a few drinks at that library bar, my father would have loved this place, I imagined him sitting lighting up his cigar sipping on cognac, gorgeous leather seats , the Rajwadais very laid back, great to unwind, on Tuesdays and Saturdays they host an hours discussion from 6 pm, with a local historian who talks about Jaipur and the Rajputana. The Shiva temple which sits in the middle of the hotel grounds, guests are welcome to participate in a Puja ceremony, with the Pundit Priest the shiva temple is over 300 years old and the Pundit is 5th generation, an old tradition where the pundit gives you his blessings, very spiritual indeed, very peaceful. I recommend you get blessed by him. The Oberoi can arrange tailor made tours for you, I recommend you book prior to your arrival, I booked in advance, with a local agent, Janu travels, read reviews online, the experience was Ok, the dry was kind enough to take us to the Amber palace and the Pink city to see the Hawa Mahal, one tip is take water, and if you are visiting Jaipur try to go in the winter, November- January, it was 45 degrees Celsius! it was very hot and the air was dry, even for me and I've lived in the Gulf for a very long time! hats are a must all year round and stay hydrated. Max one of the Surya mahal staff was so kind he packed us a box of fruits and pastries for our trip to the Amber fort. Our stay in Jaipur has been fantastic, I cant even begin to describe how much Jaipur has grown on me, the people the experience, the hotel on its own has exceeded my expectations, what made our stay in Jaipur amazing was the people, the fantastic service, the attention to detail, I love this city and its people and I cant wait to be back again. A special thanks to Anup, Akshay, Max and all the wonderful staff at the Oberi for making us feel at home and for treating us like royals, Thank you to Abhishek Sharma the General Manager for everything. I don't think any other hotel will top our stay here. The oberoi Group is becoming one of my favorite hotel chains. A magical experience, I cant wait to be back! Thank you so much Oberoi!

Best service in a hotel. Ever.

This is a sprawling, beautiful hotel well outside the main part of the the city. It is serene and the units are all set apart from each other. You are welcomed to the hotel warmly with a showering of rose petals and kind greetings from the staff, and taken to your room in a golf cart, but it is an easy walk to the main building, and you'll enjoy seeing peacocks and other birds along the way. The spa is beautiful and has a little shop in the entry. The pool is beautiful as well and service around the pool attentive. The gift shop is fabulous...we found that they stocked new treasures nearly every day, made by local artisans and jewelers. A real treat...don't miss it! The restaurant was enjoyable with live performances during dinner and delicious food - either Indian or western. The rooms were beautiful and the marble bathrooms with views to the little private garden were gorgeous. We enjoyed the special experience of sunset at Naila Fort -- go if you can arrange it. It was unique! Of all of the great aspects of this property, the service was really head and shoulders above everything else. Everyone was warm, always knew our name, had waters and our room key whenever we arrived back at the hotel. We felt as if we were the only guests of the hotel (and I know other guests felt the same). It was simply the best service I have ever had in a hotel anywhere in the world and I feel the pull of that magical experience, calling me back!
A 5 Star rating does not do it justice!

I had the pleasure of staying at several Oberoi properties during a two week solo trip to India last September and though this review is long overdue, I still pinch myself when I think of how exquisite my experience was at The Oberoi Rajvilas. From the moment I was greeted at the entrance by the entourage of staff inclusive of the General Manager (please read other reviews of my travels specific to India and Oberoi properties), the room upgrade I received (a self standing, fully functioning luxury tent fit for a Queen), the food, the room service, the attentive, hospitable and good natured staff, the cuisine, the impeccable grounds with peacocks wandering aimlessly around the property just to name a few things that left an indelible impression on me. The Oberoi Rajvilas will NOT disappoint!

Fabulous hotel with great staff and a wonderful pool. This was our third Oberoi hotel experience and arguably this property offered the most exceptional service of the properties we've visited. The hotel has an absolute orientation to "yes" for all your needs and requests. When we had a miscommunication with our driver, the hotel arranged a car for us in a matter of minutes. When we loved a cocktail from the hotel bar, the waiter at the pool had it delivered to us in a completely separate area. When the staff overheard a conversation about clothing in India, they arranged traditional outfits and hats delivered to our rooms. Absolutely everything we could imagine and wanted was made possible. A few other highlights: - The hotel bar makes wonderful cocktails and an experience not to be missed. - We had both Indian and Italian at the restaurant and both were exceptional. I was amazed to get such perfect al dente pasta from a restaurant in Jaipur. - Yoga is done outside with an amazing instructor and peacocks walking around. This is a must do at this property. Things to know: - Lots of birds - Like other Oberoi properties, the hotel is somewhat outside the city center. This is an asset and a challenge.
I would imagine all rooms are nice.
