Damodra Desert Camp was one of the best experiences in India my family had. I traveled with my husband and cousin - the three of us were able to share one tent as it was big enough to fit a large bed and a smaller bed. From the moment we arrived, everything was prepared and handled for us. The tent itself was perfect with AC and a large bathroom. The camp and surroundings were also breathtaking. Prithvi, the owner, designed everything himself. The experience he crafted for his guests is extremely thoughtful and intentional - we enjoyed every minute of our time there. His staff were also amazing and you could tell they enjoyed working there. The camel ride organized for guests and the traditional dance show were fantastic, as well as the food! There are only positive things to say about our stay here. And if you want to experience peace and quiet, this is THE PLACE for you! Many thanks again to Prithvi and staff!

I daresay that theres barely anything I have to crib about this glampers paradise except that I get to rub it in peoples faces that I got to have such a brilliant experience here. Mr. Narayan Singh and Mr. Pruthvi Singh the owners and their staff are exceptional! Kudos for giving us such a wonderful experience in the desert. I did manage to see many other camps but they pale in comparison to Damodra. Yet another once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Of the 12 hotels we stayed in during our month long trip this was the best . The attention to detail is excellent. There are only 10 tents so the atmosphere is just right and our fellow travellers were great company. loved the bed which had the finest Egyptian cotton bedding. spotlessly clean everywhere. The owner was very present making sure that guests were happy. Forget about the other camps this one is going to be very hard to beat.

The camp itself is very well laid out with the tents set up around a central core that is your outdoor dining and entertaining area with fire pit. The tent itself is a solid canvas tent but thats where the camping analogy ends. Tiled floor leads you to a full ensuite with plenty of hot water in the shower. The bed was very comfy and we had a good sleep in the quiet of the desert. We went for the camel ride which was bumpy but fun. Surfing the sand dunes was amusing to all. Returning back to the camp we had probably the best night of our trip. The staff were friendly and quick to refill your drink and offer appetisers as it was cooked on the bbq. The traditional dancing and singing was superb, only wished I understood what they were singing. After that we moved inside for the main meal which was also a hearty and flavourful meal. For those staying a second night there is a visit to an ghost town which sounded very dramatic.

Located in a hideout oasis just off the Sam road, this is a gem of a property. Visited here in first week of February with my family. The property is small with about 12 tents disbursed around an open amphitheater. Post arrival you are treated to this really chic and nicely done tent and then taken for a camel ride to the sand dunes. The sand dunes are isolated and not crowded so you can enjoy the sunset at peace. Then you are brought back to a wonderful live show of guttural and folk dance followed by a sumptuous dinner. Will recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a unique desert experience.
