  • Outstanding

Our stay at the Suryaghar was wonderful. The beautiful and well appointed room, the food in the excellent restaurant, the pool area and the beautiful ( and surprising in the desert) wildlife garden, and the outstanding service from all the staff made this a highlight of our stay in India. Most impressive, and most surprising in a high end hotel where management and staff can be standoffish, was the friendliness of the senior staff members who regularly met with us to chat. We hope to return.

  • Fantastic!

Suryagarh was probably one of the best places Ive stayed at. Highlight being the animals. The peacocks and the gabbar the dog and his puppies were the best! Samil showed us around the property and was warm and welcoming. The food was excellent, although a little expensive. The open courtyard with cots are ideal to enjoy the starry night.

  • Spectacular!

An absolutely out of this world experience at Suryagarh. From the very first sight of the beholding hotel to being welcomed like royalties with the Rajasthani music - followed by the pundit Jis aarti and the very regal reception area... Suryagarh is the most fantastic of all hotels Ive been to mostly due to the hospitality, the love and smiles from each and every person working there. The food was outstanding, I never doubted it. The breakfast quality, quantity and variety is over and above expectations. One would think being away in the desert would affect the freshness of the food or even the variety, but NOT at Suryagarh. Fresh food, juices, fruits, continental and Indian breakfast.. amazing. The GM is focused on every little details, I remember how he personally fetched us piping hot jalebis for breakfast with turmeric milk. Very humble man with a very well equipped and organised staff. Our stay was handled mostly by Samil. A very kind and sweet young man from Darjeeling, who was full of information and advices on how to make the most of our time in Jaisalmer. He encouraged us to go for the Sundowner in the desert and it was one of the most magical experiences of our lives. He took some really great pictures of us during our stay. Showed us remote places around the hotel which took our breath away. What I really appreciate about him was that he is a young person who has a very positive approach on life. Having spoken to him several times during our stay, we would always break into laughter and also take a different approach to seeing things thanks to his opinions. The guys at the restaurant were very caring. They paid attention to every little detail. It was unbelievable. The room was cleaned to perfection. The boys would arrange all my jewelleries and makeup stuff neatly. Its hard to not get used to such royalty treatment. The boy overlooking Gabbar, Leila and their puppies was also very generous and kind. He let us play with them a lot and never lost his patience no matter how many times I said I want to pet the dogs. Overall Suryagarh was an experience of a lifetime. You have to be there to feel the magic of how everything blends in together there. A seamless management by Mr Nakul and the staff seem obviously very happy with his tactics as they are all up their game. Will come back again for sure.

  • Beautiful resort, excellent food

    by Anisha S on

Suryagarh is a really wonderful resort on the highway towards the Sam dunes (approx 20 mins from the main city). Being located away from the city is no real cost, in my view: you can quite easily travel in for a day trip and then get away from the hustle. Comfortable rooms, excellent food, beautiful courtyard, competent service, heated pool - all of it is pretty great. Two issues for you to consider: one, the organising of activities was a little shambolic. An executive incorrectly told us the desert national park was closed when it wasn't. We independently organised a safari there and it was the best part of our trip. Suggest you plan all activities independently. The DNP, in particular, is probably best organised with a naturalist. Two, its a very popular wedding venue, though I have to say the wedding that was on when we were there did not disturb us in any way at all. Hope that's the same for all of them!

This is an amazing hotel, our room was huge with a very comfortable bed and large bathroom. The gardens are superb as are all the areas such as the pool, spa and all the eating areas and bars. Food was exceptional. The big plus is the staff are wonderful. My wife used the spa and was delighted how good the massage and facial was. Highly recommend and it is also very very clean. Thank you for a wonderful stay

  • Pavilion rooms are very quiet which is useful when a wedding is on!
