    Jaisamand Hotels

Jaisamand is a lake in Udaipur which is considered as Asia's second largest artificial lake. Also known as the Dhebar Lake, it was built in the 17th century by Maharana Jai Singh. The Jaisamand Lake has incredible statistics – it is 102 feet deep and 14 km broad. On all the sides of the lakes, there are several summer palaces of the Queens of Udaipur which were built during the rule of Maharana Jai SIngh.
A tour to Jaisamand, especially during the monsoon, would be enjoyable as the surrounding area gets covered with greenery. One can enjoy a charming view of the lake from the recently constructed Sunset Point. The lake has three islands, of which one is small and two are big. The smaller one is known as Piari while bigger ones are called as Baba ka Magra. Further, there is a marble dam that looks magnificent with the Shiva Temple and six unique cenotaphs. Apart from this, a pavilion of 12 pillars is built on the southern end of the lake and a majestic palace with a courtyard on the northern side.
During their trip to Jaisamand, tourists can also explore Jaisamand Wildlife Sanctuary which is home to different varieties of flora and fauna. Besides, they can pay a visit to Udaipur, which is one of the best travel destinations around Jaisamand. The Kumbhalgarh Fort, Chittourgarh Fort, Haldighat, Ranakpur, Sajjangarh, Bagore ki Haveli, Lake Pichola and Ghanerao are some of the famous tourist places in Udaipur.
