The Jaisamand Island resorts situated at an island, is huge property. The lake around is huge. The view from the hotel of the lake is mesmerizing. You feel calm away from the city noises. There are boats which carry passengers to the resort Island. I would not say that the property is maintained well. May be they are under renovation. The massage centre was pathetic. The rooms are in 3 4 categories with a lake view. There are conferences and seminar room. What I enjoyed the most was sitting in open area and gazing the lake. I was mesmerised by the huge lake around. There are some activities which happens like trekking and trail walk, boating. Wouldn't suggest staying overnight.

I had been to Jaisamand Island Resort 20 years back as part of my school trip and revisited recently with my husband and child. While it bought back fond memories, it reflected a blend of old and new. You need to park your vehicles in a parking facility provided by the hotel and take a boat to the island. Although the parking area has dedicated guards who watch over, still with monkeys, cats and dogs and a lot of birds, how dirty could your car or bike get is uncertain. A covered parking could be of good use here. Staff from the hotel is there to assist you to move your baggage from your car to the boat. As you move towards the resort in a motor boat, the ride is breath taking with views of hills and smaller islands. It takes roughly 20 min to reach the resort where you have staff members waiting to take your luggage as the elevator reach is minimal. The hotel has quite a nice elevation in layers. You get good coverage for Airtel and Vodaphone. Its not consistent for other operators. The reception, seating area and the bar are pretty much how I remember from 20 years back. Pretty basic but the staff is extremely courteous and responsive. We booked a deluxe room for our first night. The room is fairly well made with all necessary amenities but does call for attention with stains on walls and around. The view is a beautiful one of the hills and the lake. Their new suites and villas are magnificent. We shifted to their suite the next day and were amazed with the extremely tasteful and beautiful interiors with a panoramic view of the hills, lake, pool and the hotel. Pretty huge in size with a separate living area and huge balcony, the suites reflect pure quality. Not often do you see premium lightings to the Diaken AC to the Godrej handles to the Legrand switch boards to the Grohe bathroom fittings all together. Extremely impressive rooms. The package mostly covers all meals and there is only one restaurant there. It is pretty normal. More like an upscale canteen and has a limited spread in the buffet. But each and every item in their menu is mind blowing. The food quality is extremely good with utmost care for all taste types. For entertainment, there isnt much to do except for a few kid activities and boating around the lake. The pool doesnt seem to appear very clean. But it is a very beautiful place to sit back and reconnect with the serenity of nature. So overall the hotel does take care of everything that you may need starting from beautiful rooms to excellent food, prompt service and the perfect peace of mind for which you would like to go there.

We had a great time at this resort. The best part of the resort is great hospitality, amazing view, peaceful location, delicious food. Bit costly but its worth. Try to get full package with food, otherwise it would be damn costly. would love to visit again.

Dhebar Lake, also known as Jaismand Lake is Indias second largest manmade lake situated in The Udaipur District of Rajasthan; it is about 87 square Kilometres, 14 Km s in breath , a circumference of about 48Kms,( if you boat around the lake , you will travel 48 Km s !!), and 102 feet deep ( at the deepest point ). This beautiful lake was created when Rana Jaisingh , in the 17th century built a marble dam across the river Gomati. He named the lake Jaismand;Jai meaning Victory, (also his Name) and mand meaning Ocean. Jaismand Island Resort is a beautiful resort built on one of the three islands on the lake, was inaugurated by Shri Bhairav Singh Shikavath (the then chief minister of Rajasthan) on 19th March 1995. After doing a thorough research on TripAdvisor, we decided to book this resort as one of our places to stay during our Rajasthan Gujarat trip 2017-18.I did read just one negative comment on TripAdvisor, but ignored it...We reached Ahmadabad on 28th of December 2017 and drove straight to this magnificent, destination, the Google map was a bit confusing, as the resort is on a island, and even after reaching the jetty, it showed 20Km s away, none the less Google direction s is a boon for travellers. We reached the jetty, were received by very polite resort staff, and ferried to the island. Mr Sharma at the reception, was very helpful and receptive, typical adthidti Devo bhaya . We had just managed to reach in time for the very palatable spread of Rajasthani Food, although it was Buffet, the staff served fresh breads on the table, the Missi rotis and dal bati was excellent, our stomachs were full but our taste buds was asking for more..We had a very similar experience for dinner. We stayed in the Villa; we had an excellent view of the beautiful lake, and a lovely sunset, right from our room!!The private swimming pool is slightly small, but well maintained; it was too cold to even think of swimming though. The room was very comfortable, the bathroom well done. Evening we had snacks, and high tea. We went for a camel ride and then boating (row boat) getting to appreciate the beauty of the resort in the moonlight, and its reflection on the lake, was serene .There is nothing much to see on the island, but then, thats what I was looking for (do nothing, just relax and detoxify). Next day we relaxed in sauna for some time, had breakfast, and said Goodbye to this excellent experience, after all,all good things also come to an end. I was glad I choose this place, ignoring the negative comments
