I and my wife were traveling all over Rajasthan and just prior to getting to this resort, had stayed in 5 hotels in 5 cities prior and one hotel after the stay at this hotel. The stay at JIR was the lowlight of our 12 day tour of Rajasthan We booked the hotel based on the overall trip advisor reviews. We reached at around 8:30 PM and were taken in a boat ride to to hotel which was about 2-2.5 km from the shore. The package was for 3 nights, inclusive of all meals. When we reached the hotel the only dinner available was Khichdi, soup and Gulab Jamun. We then decided to go to bed. Thats when we saw the soiled and dirty sheets and asked them to be changed. There was some reluctance, and after 20 minutes or so, the sheets were finally changed. We got up and the view was indeed phenomenal. We then realised that the whole hotel was deserted and only another couple was inhabiting the property. We took a walk around the premises and found that the corridors had probably been cleaned a couple of years ago, all open areas had pigeon droppings all over and the swimming pool water had a layer of insects on the surface. Then we headed for breakfast. Typically, most hotels have a breakfast spread, but woefully, even at 8:30 AM, we had to wait in the empty dining hall and request for breakfast-all that was available was Alu Poha, Paratha with pickle and Curd, bread toast and omelette. The paratha was good, but the curd was sour. Having a bath was a nightmare again. The water trickled through the faucets and even after letting the water in the hot water line run for half an hour, it was a little colder than lukewarm at best. The flow was so bad that it could compare with an old man with a prostate problem. That was the final straw. Even though I had booked the hotel for three nights, I didnt think I could stand this shabby place for another two nights. I requested for a ferry and checked out in a hurry. When I asked for a partial refund, I was refused and was asked to contact Makemytrip through whom the hotel was booked. I did so and was informed that I couldnt expect any refund. Mind you, I paid 10000 per night for 3 days inclusive of three meals per day. This was a total rip-off. If Id continued for another two days, Id have lost a couple of kilos as the hotel was putting me on a diet. Contrast this with the hotel I checked into immediately after checking out from JIR. I checked into Radison Blu at 6500 per night, got a very warm welcome with a welcome drink, excellent rooms, entertainment in the lawns in the evening and a sumptuous breakfast of over 15 dishes to choose from I am unable to give this hotel a rating lower than 1 star but on a 10 point rating I would give it 1 point at best. Please beware before making a booking based only on the good reviews that are posted. You could end up losing your money and having a bad time as well. The best part of the hotel was the view of the lake in the morning.

Jaisamand resort begins attracting the moment you reach through its ferry journey. Being an island resort cars don't reach till the resort and ferry journey is must. Extremely beautiful mornings and peaceful place that you start enjoying the silence. Only nature surrounding the resort, small boat trips and camel ride makes stay enjoyable. Good food and staff friendly to bring child friendly customized food made our stay wonderful...! Worth a visit for 2 days weekend trip!

Located in the middle of the lake and we had to take boat to reach the property. It took around 25 mins to reach. Stayed for 2 days in Villa suite, was amazing experience with great service. Will surely visit again.
