We had a short but fantastic stay. Our room was spacious and clean and super comfortable. Strong a/c! The staff are exceptional and go above and beyond. We were so well taken care of. The food is also wonderful and really reasonable. One of the family even came out early to drive us to the bus because we were trying to leave on a holiday and there were no taxis available. So kind. If you are in Jammu this is the place to stay!

Stayed with a group (family) of 12 (5 kids incl) for a night (21-22Jun). Tastefully decorated and clean place. Staff if helpful and efficient. But all this only till we checked out before 12pm nd paid bill in full (no bill was provided). Went for Jammu site seeing during day and had a 19.40 train to catch at night. Request to Manager (who did not care to give his name) to allow use of a room for ladies to use washroom and change for journey was promised if only some room is empty. However, on return at 1730 hrs. the staff declined to allow use of washroom (all 3 rooms on 1st floor were empty) as Manager had instructed to them the same can be allowed at a charge of Rs.1000/. WOW. Request to get Managers contact was turned down. To top it all we picked up bags on own and carried downstairs (narrow passage blocked by a big Suv). Good and economical place but with this experience would not recommend.

We stayed as a large group at Colonel's Retreat for my cousin's wedding and booked the entire property. The place is beautiful, clean and very well managed by the in-house staff available on call. Staff: Excellent staff that is helpful, yet non-intrusive. Added advantage is that the owners live close by and so if you have any issue, they can resolve it immediately. Bhavani ji, one of the owners was so kind and helpful. Place (look and feel): The entryway to the main bungalow has a beautifully decorated garden with artefacts and pot planters of various designs that are also available on sale. We visited during the month of March and spring was in full bloom at the Colonel's Retreat. Most endearing was the balcony sit out surrounded by plants. The place is made tastefully. A good indication of high level of maintenance is always how happy and flourishing the plants in the house look. Not surprising that the owners have their own nursery. The rooms in the bungalow are well located and allow much privacy whether you're staying in a small or large group. Food: Most delicious home-cooked food prepared with fresh ingredients. We stayed for three days and never had any complaints to do with the food. On the contrary ended up feasting over every meal! I've already recommended the place to a number of family and friends travelling to Jammu and would do that to every traveller wanting to book this place!

It was an excellent stay, a home away from home. Rooms are nice and spacious. Staff is very courteous and helpful. Food is as per your taste n requirements. Location is in Gandhinagar area, a very good locality. Not very far from both Airport and Rly Station. Wi-Fi speed is very good. The decor of rooms and dining halls is quite elegant and charming. Overall a stay worth remembering. Highly recommended.
