What's Good: I stayed there with my wife and kids for 2 nights and about 3 days. I think it is the worst hotel of Ashoka Group in India. Most of the rooms dampen, there is no maintaince of hotel. The staffs are not professional. When I reached there they given me room no. 324 but by the evenening I left this room as tiolet having damped, shower was not working, even commode cover was also broken. In the room there was no flap in AC so if you start AC after an hour the room was so chilled that you cant stay there. When I reached there I ordered for lunch, after 45 minutes it reached to us, the waiter taken my signature on the receipt and returned back. When I checked food it was not as I ordered so agan I tried to ask them through intercom but nobody was there to receive my call finally I visited Reception and complained regarding that then only after next one hour I got remaining things. As shown in the website there is a swimming pool in the hotel, but just you forget it as the pool is without water. Please avoid this hotel if you want peaceful stay.

The location is good - the hotel has good lawns overlooking the Tawi river and spacious rooms. The reception is helpful, has a reasonable travel desk and pleasant service. The attached restaurant has good food, though the menu is typical North Indian and not the local cuisine - except for a couple of dishes. The place leaves you with a wonder - has everything to be a great hotel - but just about being there as an average hotel.

We were going to Mata Vaishno Devi and someone told us to stay in this hotel. We stayed here and had a great time. Staff is good and very helpful. Rooms are well maintained and spacious. Garden is well maintained which adds to it's beauty. Swimming pool is also well maintained and very clean.

Hotel Jammu Ashok is typically an ITDC hotel: It checks all the requirements of being one. Beautiful location - with views of the Tavi river, Hari Mahal etc. Spacious grounds and loads of greenery Spacious rooms Zero maintenance, peeling walls, missing or mismatched window panes, etc. AC couldn't be turned off, you needed maintenance crew to come & turn it on again; Windows couldn't be opened in spite of the beautiful weather due to the monkey menace Hotel is split level with no lift to the 2nd floor General air of despair The staff like in all ITDC hotels is efficient & responds fast to your calls whether its to repair the malfunctioning door lock or the AC or providing extra sachets of tea/milk etc. A beautiful property on its way down unless something is done immediately.

Average rooms, location is good but a bit scary during evenings /nights. Monkeya around, cant open the window. Food quality is average. Good option in tight budget. Far from the market, cant go by walk. Cleanness is ok, classic type.
