Two muslim sisters are the staff. They were very friendly and helpfull. The room was simple but clean and cheap. (Special offer). We had a beautifull view over a part of Jodhpur and the guesthouse is situated at the foothills of the immense fort, nowadays a museum. This is one of the main attractions of Jodhpur. It is also interesting to walk around in the neighbourhood and there is a small nature reserve round the fort. But you have to like to climb up and down every time you go downtown because of the steep little streets. Can give you a good condition. Jodhpur is an interesting city to stay for 2 or 3 days. The guesthouse in one of the best place to stay in Jodhpur. The food is good and family living there is extremely friendly. Also the best view of Jodhpur on the rooftop. Nagina the owner love talking with foreigners and she will explain you everything you need to know about Jodhpur. Thanks a lot for everything !

Hill View Guesthouse has an incredible view of the fort which is right next to it and the city on the other. Don't expect to see that much blue though because the old city is on the other side of the fort, although you won't mind because it is still amazing. Rooms are okay for what you pay. Location is very convenient (5 minute walk to the fort gate) and the family who runs the place is extraordinarily kind and do make you feel right at home. We were staying there in low season so food was honestly not that good and it took a long time for it to be served but it was probably because Tipu (who was extremely nice and always smiling) was pretty much alone. Would definetly recommend staying in this place if you are looking for budget accommodation.

The trek up to Hill View with my luggage in tow was certainly something - but it was all worth it to have the sisters who run it greet me at the top with warmth and humour. They treat you like family during your stay and in the end, the climb meant being just around the corner from the fort. The room was clean and cosy and charming, with little nooks and decorations and a fan that didn't clank all night (very welcome after the place I stayed previously!). There are views of the city on every floor (from the stairwell windows) and the restaurant has views over the city. The sisters also organised my bus to Jaisalmer for only a small service fee (like 70 cents or something, well worth me not running around at the station). Hill View was both one of my favourite stays and one of the cheapest, such great value for money and I absolutely would come and stay here again.

Still look back at the night we spent at Hilo View and remember the lovely panorama both at sunrise and sunset, breakfast and dinner on the roof top. All with the Fort right at my back: so impressive and magic. You could also listen to the muezzin calls coming with echo from all Jodhpur. Nice and clean rooms also in the building in front of the main one. Perfect position though your tuktuk may leave you at the bottom of the hill, a 100metres close by.
