I never needed a zero rating option on trip advisor, because, no matter how bad a place was, I never thought of giving zero rating... But this place definitely deserves a zero rating.... The first thing you notice when you approach the resort is lack of lighting on the approach road and in fact there is no road after the entry gate, it's just gravel (I kept wondering if I am at the wrong place, is it really a club Mahindra resort) The doubt increased as we stepped inside the property.. No one bothers to wish you or welcome you, in fact nobody cared (so naturally the first question I asked is, "is this club Mahindra", just to confirm)...Upon confirmation, we were asked all our IDs. We gave all the IDs and to my surprise, we were told that they don't accept pan card as valid ID, reason is there is no address on it. Are you serious? The shocker is, the way the manager/person in-charge responded saying that it is compulsory that all the people should have ID proofs with address for check-in... Produce all the address proofs or leave the premises is what I understood from his voice (it doesn't matter if three out of the family is having address proofs and just me a mother of small kids only has pan card)... Never heard this kind of requirement and never heard this kind of response/attitude from a manager... Even if it is required/mandated by law, there is always a way to communicate it... Particularly when you are in hospitality industry Fortunately my husband somehow managed to get my Aadhar card...I am sure they would have made us sit there or ask us to leave if we couldn't get it... It doesn't matter if you have been traveling whole day to reach this place and you have small kids with you... Next thing we got is a rule book, which we were told to take to the room, go through it and keep it handy for the entire stay. That very moment we realized that this place is very very different. The next three days we felt like we were the humble subjects of his highness who graciously showed some pity and allowed us to stay in his palace as we don't have anywhere else to go. Can anyone imagine a four star hotel having hot water for only few hours in a day, pay for a toothbrush and toothpaste, beg for towels and cloth hangers. Our car driver was also treated very badly, which was not a surprise any more to us. One last word. It felt like the promoters of the property were thinking that they are doing us an enormous favour by letting us stay in their property. I hope they realize that we paid lot of money to stay there. Go there if you want to have a feel of staying in a haveli, but beware, you will be treated as a subject not a guest.

Pratap niwas is palace converted into a hotel with big rooms and big bathroom. Accommodation is excellent far from city around 11kms away. Evening culture programme are good if witnessing for the first time other wise its a routine at all hotels and resorts in Rajasthan. Mid way experience is due to poor food. A la Carter is very limited as most of the guests are from Mahindra resorts member family and hence buffet spread at exorbitant cost is only option available. Bar facilities are available too. Overall a average experience.

It's a royal looking place, well made though rooms with more natural light would have done a world of good, the food quality is good and the place is kept clean. That's where the good of it ends. They are a stickler for rules and have employees who are not empowered and led by someone whose actions ensure their staff look like Nazi soldiers who if they smile would probably get roasted. Club Mahindra ethos is completely missing here and they must intervene and make this place hospitable. Imagine a child running in the courtyard during the day when it's empty and being scolded by the supervisor for running. Ever heard that before in a resort. They behave as if they are a poorly led business hotel or a royalty where the clients are nothing more than a commoner is to century old kings. Penny wise pound foolish: that's their mantra. Imagine being told early morning that they don't have towels when asked for extra, probably their rule book says don't give more than 3 towels in a room even though more people stay and pay extra bed charges. Imagine a 4 star hotel that provides hot water for 6 hours in a day in 2 shifts. Imagine sitting in a buffet where not more than one roti is served at a time on a table. This list I long &surely the misers could benefit by being more reasonable and having a broader thinking. Families, open minded people, funloving guys to avoid this place. Great for loners and people who are looking for an army mess and / or tranquility.

Nothing is good about this place... 1. Food - worst, they have a menu but it's just a namesake. They prepare a fixed menu for lunch/dinner and u'll be forced to order from that menu only. If u order A la carte, u r doomed, u just can't have that food. If u call restaurant manager, he ll TEACH u what taste to expect, funny... 2. Room service - if u ask for an extra towel, straight away on ur face they will say NO. In our 4 days trip they didn't even change napkin once after repeatedly asking for so. If u ask for shower gel/shampoo, u r gonna hear NO. Take bath in whatever we give, u can't ask for. U have to call 3 times for a water jug to b refilled.. Every aspect of room service is worse than the other; from the cold tea in morning to smelly sheetless blankets. 3. They don't conduct any activities as they conduct in every other club Mahindra resort. 4. They were even rude with our driver too. Good points r - rooms r spacious, tall ceiling, reception people r good.

Worst resort in my life being a Club Mahindra member since 2006.Being here on Diwali from 6/11 to 8/11.Upset as no lighting and not informed for Laxmi pujan, as we had last year in Binsar. Loads of rules and regulations, which is good but one rule has ruined our holidays NO OUTSIDE FOOD. Our family was OK with that but all three meals we had to adjust as they were not available being in their menu. We were ordering as per menu but they were having fixed menu within their menu. We have been forced to order as per their convenience and not as per our wish. Very Sad and anguished for deciding Jodhpur.... Can't suggest anyone....
