Firstly; I can see why some people like this guest house, especially those who have little experience in India. At first the family is very welcoming, and the views of the fort are good. However; this dusty run-down Haveli (which claims to be 500 years old) is not a hotel as it was advertised on the booking site. Also; Mr Jain is ultimately only after your money. If you prebook online: there is a very strict no cancelation policy (even if youre only changing plans and not canceling). He became extremely rude and unhelpful, especially when we didnt book any site seeing through him. Even during our early departure (2 days earlier than we planned), he was aggressively asking how much we were paying for your taxi out of town. Also, theres a restaurant, but the food is average and prices are high; so its not worth considering.

Totally wonderful experience ! Amazing location in the heart of it all ! A traditional Havali with excellent service and very helpful staff . Manish helped us with everything we needed and Neetu in the blue house restaurant rooftop not only served us well but also is a very talented henna artist. I highly recommend this to anyone searching a cool and friendly experience !

Unfortunately, for this guest house, the 1 star reviews are true. Bad management, rude staff, mosquitos everywhere, wasp in the restaurant, slow over priced food. You do get a clean room but it won't be ready for you, even if you arrive after check in time. Hot water will take about 30 mins to heat up and you'll get almost 2 mins of hot water. The view of the fort is good We had planned for a 7 night stay, but we decided to changes plans and meet up with friends in a neighboring city. When we spoke to the owner, he informed us that we would have to pay for the remaining 3 nights. We told him that no where else would do that and he responded with "it is up to the Booking site" and "it is better if you pay". We contacted the Booking site and they were happy to change the days for us, however, when they contacted the owner, he would only cancel one night. This is the worst type of behavior from a guest house. Never in all my years of traveling, have I come across such a poorly managed guest house.

Blue house guesthouse is run by the Jain family. It's a artistic haveli with exquisite rooms which are painted with intricate details. The interiors are amazing and view from the rooftop is mind-blowing. I stayed in the first floor in a cozy room. Breakfast is served in the haveli, for lunch and dinner one has to walk few meters to the restaurant run by the same family. The downside of it is the small, narrow market lane where it is present, quite a task to find the place.

This was a very sketchy / dodgy experience. Upon arrival, we were told our room would not be available until 9.30pm because someone fell down the stairs and was at the hospital. We agreed to wait, and were waiting in the dirty lobby where we were were being eaten alive by mosquitoes when we met another couple whose room was also not available! The story then shifted to a large group of guests got sick and were at the hospital. What that had to do with our room was unclear. It was all very strange and unsettling, so we left and went to another hotel. Pros: it did appear to have a nice view from the rooftop and was centrally located Cons: bug bites in disgusting lobby, highly unprofessional staff, no room
