Access road is pathetic and not suitable for driving at all. Food served by the resort is really bad. I fell ill after eating breakfast served by them. There were lizards in the bathroom. There is no intercom facility in the cottage. So you shall have to personally go and call somebody if the geyser does not work. Except boat ride there is nothing else to do here. Avoid their badly maintained swimming pool. They might give you some bicycles to ride which will further your backache, because even inside the resort we have an uneven mud road. In the night, they shall light a bonfire and some tribals shall show you some weird dance moves and would insist that you to join them. I was still looking forward for the safari trip on the following day. But they announced that the same has been cancelled for some reason. It was indeed a very memorable experience.

We stayed here for 2 nights in July. The location is off track and on the river bank which makes it a great place to unwind. With the monsooon still active, the weather was perfect for a weekend getaway. Abhi and his team ensured that we were at ease and were prompt with their courteous service (with a smile). The food was awesome, not the typical hotel buffet, but had a nice homely touch to it. MY favourite was the breakfast served on both days and the awesome mutton cry with fish fry. Rooms are slightly older and can be maintained better, but that is surely not a negative. The boat ride in the evening was a memorable experience!!!

We had recently gone on a cousin's only trip in the last week of July 2018 and had chosen The Peepal Tree for our stay in Kabini. And guys, I must say it was an awsome stay..!!!! We had a 2 night stay in the last week of July 2018. We reached in the afternoon & were immediately directed to the dining section for a wholesome meal. Later we enjoyed the boat ride and had a relaxed evening ahead. The staff had arranged for the Safari trip for the next day. The safari was a disappoinment... hardly any sightings.. except for the deers, peacocks, some wild buffalows.. that's it!! The breakfast that followed in the hotel was divine!! Had a laid back day... the staff had organized for a village tour... but we opted for rest instead. At night there was a bonfire followed by the tribal dance, which was nice. The dinner was awsome... what a spread!!! The next day we checked out with fond memories of our trip. Thank you for the entire staff of The Peepal Tree for giving us such fond memories.

Kabini is a 5-6 hour drive from Bangalore. As with all Indian getaways, it is best to start in the early morning to soak-in the scenes and get out of the traffic asap. Google map directions till Kabini is fine, after which it is best to consult the locals and Peepul Tree's signage on the way. That said, the shortcut through the dam will save you an hour at least; try to arrange to plan ahead for it. So, The Peepul Tree is an array of quaint, spanking clean cottages. We had rented a two bedroom cottage which was equipped with a microwave, fridge and geysers (in each bathroom). You'll hardly use the microwave, because the staff is prompt and makes homely food. But, you'll use the fridge for the booze that you bring with yourself, because alcohol service is not permitted at any of the jungle resorts here, as far as I know. Must also bring the swimming trunks (because they have an in-house pool here) and try the jungle safari. The monsoons will disappoint as far as spotting animals are concerned, because they don't need to venture out from the core forest area for water, so chances are less that you'll see them.
