Wanted to stay in this heritage property for long and finally managed to stay here for one night in winter. This old colonial property is very well maintained by Government of West Bengal with excellent service. Location is really good as it is far from the crowded city of Kalimpong nad surrounded by military area, golf course. The Durpin Monastery and hill is walking distance from here - 2km from the property. Rooms are large, washrooms were clean and provided with toiletries as well as sandals which is quite unexpected in the govt lodge. Room 101 is really very big and thr best one. The dining area is very nice and foods were very tasty in reasonable price. Complementary breakfast was good and was served in room. WiFi facility is good. Staffs were exceptionally well behaved and helpful and hospitality was amazing. Overall Morgan house is a must visit if you are travelling to Kalimpong.

Morgan House have its own charm and beauty.... Located at an excellent location, the environment is refreshing, the views are excellent, there is nothing you can complain about much. It's good but it can be better.

At least two night stay are required and we managed to get the booking via online system of WBTDCL. We got the rooms in Annex but not disappointed as that too a Bunglow. The campus has Morgan house with 5 rooms, Annex ( known as Tashiding) with 6 rooms and 7 double bedded cottages. The views from main Morgan house and Annex building are unobstructed. With a huge area and excellent flora collection the campus is itself a hotspot for bird and butterfly lovers. The staffs are properly groomed and food available are of good quality. Loved the place and will visit next time am in Kalimpong.

You can visit there as a sightseeing spot. But you can book a room here also. So you can feel the serenity of the nature and experience the cultures of hills. This is actually a house of colonial time. But now it is a west bengal tourist lodge.

Staying overnight in Morgan house, Kalimpong was a memorable experience. This old British property is very well maintained by Government of West Bengal with excellent service. Location is an advantage for this lodge, it is far from the crowded city of Kalimpong nad surrounded by military area, golf course and extraordinary natural beauty. The Durpin Monastery and hill is walking distance from here. Online booking is easy and cab services are available at reasonable price from the lodge. The Morgan House is famous for it's haunted appearance and it is very well maintained and perfectly balanced with beautiful garden and deserted surrounding area. Rooms are large with antique wooden furniture, comfortable bed and good electric supply. Our room also had a open balcony with sitting arrangement which is perfect for a admiring the beauty of nature. Toilet is average but despite water crisis, hot water facility is well functioning. A room heater could be installed given the moist chilly weather. The dining area is very nice and foods were very tasty in reasonable price. Complementary breakfast was good and was served in room. WiFi facility and network connection is a big problem because of the location probably. However, in my opinion loss of connectivity gave me more time to enjoy the stay. Staffs were exceptionally well behaved and helpful and hospitality was amazing. Overall Morgan house is a must visit if you are travelling to Kalimpong.
