Excellent rooms and service at Ghonday Village Resort. Quality , quantity of food was very good. Geysers were all working and running hot water throughout the day. Do try thr paneer pokaras..it went perfect with our drinks View from the hotel is also great and on a clear sky Mt Kachenjunga will be visible but we had rain during our 2 day stay but even that added to the charm. Special mention to Mr Neeraj and Puran Gurang who are managing this resort, both were courteous and very professional. Neeraj and us bonded very well over party...that guy sings n plays really well along with my fellow pal Subhro (trust me when I say Subhro sings better than Sanu) Overall service of the staff was very commendable. Lastly, they also packed lunch for us which we had skipped before at no additional cost. Everything done on time. Best place to stay if ur in Kaluk.

While planning this trip we weren't sure of going to Kaluk, we didn't know where it is. However if we had skipped Kaluk we would have done a grave mistake. It's a hidden gem. And this resort is the best attraction there, besides Kanchenjunga of course. The management is excellent, great food, quiet an ideal getaway.

This resort is a little gem in the outskirts of West Sikkim, located in a small hamlet named Kaluk. We planned for a Pelling trip and like wise all the bookings and advances were already made. Just a day before out trip when I was searching for a local places to roam around pelling I suddenly got a glimps of this stay on Google. Just looking at the picturesque place I got mesmotised and decided to take up a stay here only. I got lots lucky to have two rooms matching with our journey rates. This place is in the middle of the Kaluk village. Property is well decorated and been constructed keeping all the natural essence intact. We stayed their on 9th May for 3 nights and 4 days. Rooms- All well furnished, giving a premium feel with well maintained linens. Bathrooms are supre clean with centralised heating facility ensuring seemless suppy of hot water for bathing. Shower area is separated with a plastic curtains which means you can get a all time dry washroom entry. All the rooms have dazzling views of Mt.Kanchendzonga range. One can easily enjoy the full view from his bed only. They have a main building and 5-6 cottages located in steps in of hill. If you want to enjoy a personal condo experience then can go for the cottage, but to enjoy the full view of the Kanchendzonga picking up a room in the main building is recommended. For best view pick up rooms ranging from Rs.2000 on the front. Food - As its a small village do not expect fancy food eateries nearby. You have to take tbe meal from here only, as there are no outside restaurent is available. But trust me if you don't try out the food from Ghonday then you would miss a great experience. Looking at the menu one can get a felling of burnt pocket but wait. That price for a single dish is enough to make full two adults. So if you share dishes then overall costing is dam cheap. I have been to lot many places but I have never had such a great taste not even in Gangtok. North Indian and Chinese is a must try dish here. The way theh surve you, the cutlery they use , the way theh taste all make you feel eating out at a 4 star Hotel. The smile they put to serve you makes your food more testy. You can customize you dish as much as your own way but all the time they reply to you with a warm smile and gesture. Hospitality - I must say the kind of hospitality we experienced is overwhelming. We did not expected such a joy full and warm welcome witn so much warmth in heart. The genuineness reflects every timd with the behaviour s of all the staff. If you go do not forget to take a sip of their welcome drink "Temi Tea". The courtesy they have showcased if really appreciable. Even during our stay we get a chance to meet the owner itself and I must say his down to earth nature touched me so well. Overall the stay is marvellous. Enjoy your eveing seating in the garden charishing the valley next to you as a glow-warm nest. In the morning take a walk to Richongpeong village 6km away and enjoy fresh air. A special thanks to Mr.Puran Gurung and his entire staff

Stayed in Ghonday Village Resort for 3 nights with friends. We stayed in Meenam cottages. Only few of the hotels will make you feel at home and make you miss them when you leave the place. This is one of them. It is run by family members and make you feel one of their family members. Excellent customer service and the food was awesome. Chicken liver and gizzard lovers should try karchi marchi which is a traditional sikkim dish. Has the best view of Kanchenjunga in Kaluk. Food items are reasonably priced. The place is well maintained and has so many varieties of plants and flowers. Try the fire place in the night with chicken barbeque and music.
