What's Good: This resort is located in remote and beautiful place inside buffer zone nearer to Mukki gate having all sorts of modern facility. Really thankful to Mr Sanjay, naturalist for arranging safari within a very short span of time.Food is good . Staffs r courteous and well behaved. I stayed there for three nights with my family. Value for money. I suggest to prefer Prithvi and Akash suite for staying.

Just spent 4 nights at Chitvan. I highly enjoyed my stay there. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the food delicious and accommodation comfortable. Ajay, the chief chef and his team put together a massive variety of delicious Indian food. This definitely was a highlight of our stay there. We had a jungle owlet catching insects by our front door and a palm civet with her pups running up and down our roof last night. The lodge is on the edge of the jungle with a large variety of visiting birds. This truly is a nature lovers place of escape. There was no internet available, and frankly I did not care. Tours with Sanjay and our driver were highly enjoyable. If youre into birding, Sanjay is the guy to go to. He managed to teach me a massive variety of bird calls in just a few days. The driver and he were very good at tracking tigers too. We ended up seeing 8 tiger in 5 days. Overall, a wonderful experience.. See my review reg Kanha National Park for more info reg my visit to there.

The natural beauty, modern amenities and rustic feel draw you in as soon as you enter Chitvan. The fact they are ecologically sensitive - growing their own kitchen garden, using solar cookers, geyser powered by fallen wood on the property, composting leftovers for manure to the garden and amazingly conserving even the ant homes in the property only increase the appeal of Chitvan Lodge ! Staff is very warm, caring and courteous . They even pack a lunch box when you say a goodbye and travel out of the lodge. Personal attention and interest is shown from the head chef, attendants and even the property manager Mr. Ashwini. The fact the food is so tasty and you can enjoy a mix of Indian, Regional and World cuisine makes each of the 3 meals to look forward to . Rotis and desserts were also delectable. It also has a comfortable access to the Kanha Jungle via the Mukki gate . The nature on the property is no less beautiful with wide variety of ficus, bamboo, lotus pond, bougainvillea arches and native wildflowers. A must visit is the kitchen garden. The very well informed gardener with take you across the whole property and point our Sindoor trees, Sajja (crocodile skin) pumpkin, mango and banana trees Chitvan Jungle Lodge is absolutely the right place to stay while visiting Kanha , whether be it as a couple , family or a group

If one is looking to be treated like royalty, look no further! Stunning and extremely comfortable lodgingings perched among the trees make you feel right at home. The peaceful atmosphere supplies a million different places to read a book or take a nap in the sun between safaris! Staff is always there to assist you, and our personal experience was that no day was the same! Naan and muffin making with chef ajay, and the local tribe came in for a fire lit dance one night, very fun! You are greeted with cool lemonade and a cool wash towel after your morning safari and warm tea or coffee and a warm wash towel right after afternoon safari. There are 4 very cute and friendly German sheapards and they love being pet and played with! But if you arent into dogs, they stay by the main gate away from all the accommodations. Highly recommend!

Good quality lodge accommodation. Very large units. Just a short drive to National Park entrance. Good fresh food expertly cooked by chef Ajay. Our only issue was that the dining areas were freezing in January. We had to eat breakfast and dinner in our coats and hats, and then we were still cold. Lunchtime was fine and easily warm enough to eat outside. In warmer months it would rate a better score.

Having first visited the exquisite jungle back in early 2000s, a trip to Kanha was a long time coming. Finally putting our calendars together, we (a group of 6) decided on pinning half a week (4 nights) for a visit prior to Christmas; we couldn't have picked a better time and place. Thanks to Chitvan, we had a memorable trip not only characterized by extraordinary sightings of the magnificent royal tiger(s) but also a genuinely comfortable stay made possible by the enthusiastic hospitality of the staff, flavorful food, and a knowledgeable, dedicated naturalist. Chitvan is located about 7 minutes from Mukki Gate, in a tranquil setting surrounded by farmland and the forest. The only "noise" you wake up to is the melodious chirping of the birds and sometimes the "alarm call" on the phone -- if requested -- to get you up and ready for the morning safaris. With four such mornings 100s of miles away from the annoying hustle and the bustle of the cities, we only wished that we had planned a longer stay -- and that is what we would be doing the next time we want to visit Kanha. The hotel (or the resort) is aesthetically designed that maintains touch with the wild yet gives you a modern feel, with access to top-class, well-maintained amenities and a properly trained staff. The chef -- Mr. Ajay -- made sure our energy needs were well taken care of, with a carefully packed breakfast to be had on the safaris, and a sumptuous lunch and dinner, offering choice for both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian folks. On a couple of occasions, Ajay also specifically customized the lunch and dinner to suit our timing and dietary requirements. The stay couldn't have been complete without the safaris, and the management is lucky to have a naturalist such as Naren. He is a dedicated, observant, knowledgeable and down-to-earth naturalist, who really cares about the wildlife, and the tiger in particular. Thanks to him and the guides of Kanha (at Mukki), we got treated to memorable sightings of four different tigers, and a variety of other wildlife ranging from the surreptitious civet cat to the muscular gaur. We were fortunate to have him as our naturalist. All things considered, Chitvan ticked all the right boxes and more, for a stay that will make you want to go back to them every time you think of a visit to Kanha. Offering a warm, comfortable stay marked by modern amenities and well-equipped, spacious clean rooms, coupled with delightful food and a devoted naturalist, what more could we have asked for? For the price to quality, I strongly recommend this hotel for your next trip to Kanha -- be it simply for a want to be away from the city or a meditative sojourn to the forests. Oh, one last thing... they also have a couple of very friendly dogs on the property who make your stay just that much more extra special and loving!
