What's Good: This resort is located in remote and beautiful place inside buffer zone nearer to Mukki gate having all sorts of modern facility. Really thankful to Mr Sanjay, naturalist for arranging safari within a very short span of time.Food is good . Staffs r courteous and well behaved. I stayed there for three nights with my family. Value for money. I suggest to prefer Prithvi and Akash suite for staying.

What's Good: Awesome memorable stay. Staffs are very caring and friendly. Rooms are clean, comfortable and very homely. Food was really delicious. The property is located few kms from Mukki Gate and it really gives you a feel of the jungle. Loved it and would choose Chitvan for our next trip too.
Excellent hospitality and superb location

Loved the property and the people serving at the resort. The present property manager Mr. Rohit is exceptional when it comes to customer delight. The property is on the border of core zone and buffer zone, you have to go 4 kms inside from the main mukki gate. Though your driver may crib but this is one of the places to be in Kanha.
Huge and neat rooms, beautiful location, good food, ... well done!

We stayed at Chitvan Jungle Lodge mid-March, when the corona panic also erupted in India. As a result, we had to stop our tour at Chitvan Jungle Lodge. However, we were able to enjoy their hospitality for the planned two days. The domain is close to Mukki gate of Kanha NP. The road there is bumpy but passes through picturesque settlements. The whole is located in a spacious and green park. The reception is friendly and warm with a welcome drink and check-in goes smoothly. The bungalows are nicely implanted among the greenery. We stayed in a Jal suite and they are very spacious with a separate living room, bedroom, a place where you can leave your luggage and a bathroom. As I said, because we were there during the corona crisis, there were hardly any guests: except the two of us, there were just a French lady and also an Indian man whose review you can also read here. As a result, there was no buffet meal but we were served at the table. However, the food was always delicious. For our last breakfast they even dragged a table outside and put it next to the pool. We felt very privileged. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. A special thanks to manager Rohit for helping us find a return flight from India to Belgium. Unfortunately, we were unable to accept his offer to sit out the crisis with them, otherwise we might have had an extra two months of vacation. They also ensure that blankets are always available at the safaris. The breakfast at these safaris is more than sufficient. When you return, you always get warm flannels to wipe your dusty face and hands. After the evening safaris there are also drinks and cookies ready as well. If we ever return to Kanha National Park we will definitely opt for this resort again.

This lodge is awesome. We spent 2 nights here. The room was very clean and spacious. The food was delicious. I shall be returning back to this lodge in the future. I hope all the staff are safe during the pandemic.

After spending more than 2500 nights in hotels in my life, I can fairly say that this has to be rated as one of the best stays I have ever had. I will break the review in a few parts - 1) Booking experience - The booking was done before the entire Covid-19 thing blew up in India. Nitin at their Delhi office was able to offer me a well priced package and the responsibilities of obtaining the necessary safari permits for the available zone in Kanha. 2) Arrival - The car sent to me at the airport was absolutely clean and well maintained and the driver was well mannered and drove responsibly. After a 4.5 hour drive, I arrived at the resort and was greeted by Rohit and his team seamlessly and dinner was kept ready. 3) Room & Property - There are many reviews where it states that the property is now getting old. It must be understood that such properties which have a focus on wildlife tourism are supposed to be rustic and i found every conceivable amenity while also being quaint and thoughtfully designed/ decorated. 4) Food - The restaurant is ably run by Ajay and his team and even though there was only 20% occupancy during my stay, food quality, consistency and variety was maintained throughout. Vegetables came fresh from their onsite farm. It was the perfect mix of homecooked style meals with a countryside touch. 5) Safaris - The highlight of everyones stay in Kanha! Naren Malik and Alam ensured that the safari gypsy was available on time and comfortably packed with blankets and packed breakfast for our morning drives. Each having their own style and tracking abilities, we managed to sight tigers 8 times across 5 safaris. Their knowledge and passion is indeed infectious and well intentioned. 6) Miscellaneous - Apart from the safaris, one can also spend time lazing around their clean swimming pool and library. A suggestion would be to update the stock of books and also have a collection of wildlife focused films which one can watch on their common TV. 7) Conclusion - I would not hesitate to ever visit this property again and will highly recommend it to anyone who would like to have a well planned and comfortable option with great value, right next to the Mukki gate of Kanha. The night before departure, I had the pleasure of meeting the GM of the hotel chain and upon departing the next day back to Raipur airport, I was given an amazing sendoff by him and 6 members of the team who waved me goodbye and ensured that that memory and that of Chitvan will always stay etched in my memory for time immemorial!! Hope this same passion and service is maintained even when the resort is running on high occupancy. WELL DONE TEAM CHITVAN!!!
A bit old and tired but an excellent stay

My husband and I stayed in a Jal cottage at Chitvan jungle lodge at the beginning of March. Our cottage was huge with comfortable beds and plenty of storage space. I loved the tiger theme on the curtains and upholstery. Yes the lodges are a bit old and dated but theyre still perfectly adequate. The staff are amazing. Theyre all very friendly and happy to talk about the food they have prepared a lot of which comes from their own garden. We even ate the delicious salad here as it was home grown and washed with purified water. The food was delicious. Different soups at lunch time and evening. A good choice of mains and the best nan bread I tasted in India. The breakfasts they provided to be eaten in the national park was huge and varied every day. It was perfect eating it from the bonnet of the jeep or in one of the huts. Other nice little touches like blankets for early morning and evening safaris, warm flannels to wipe your dusty face and hands when you return before you have a drink and a biscuit and discuss the Safari with other guests. The safaris were great. Early morning starts and again later in the afternoon. Our driver Naren Malik and our guide Sukhram were a great team. They were so knowledgable and once we told them we were interested in birds they went out of their way to show us so many different types. We were fortunate enough to see a leopard as well as a tiger but theres so much more wildlife here, its an amazing place. I would definitely recommend staying here. We really enjoyed our stay. Theres a lovely atmosphere about the place and the pool is also really good should you get a chance to use it.
