This place was simply the best! Highly recommended if you wanna visit a paradise with great authentic indian food. Owners and staff we're also super nice and helpful, and they arranged us all the things we needed. Great hospitality indeed.

Weve just spent three days at Waves and would absolutely recommend this exquisite, simple oceanfront property. Seema, Arun and family who own and run the resort are super friendly and helpful, and make guests feel like part of the family. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the three (yes THREE!) home-cooked meals a day are delicious, and the views across the Arabian Sea and the sunsets on the tiny, private beach are priceless. Manager Liju looked after our every need, to the point where he was on deck, unasked, every morning to provide excellent cups of tea in bed!!! Well be back, like most of the other guests we met who come back every year, and just hope this lovely property and pristine coastline stay unsullied for years to come.

Two nights here as a family and we could have happily stayed longer. Large spotless rooms with tons of space and cupboard to put clothes away. Set in a small fairly basic garden with a couple of hammocks overlooking the sea - some flower bushes would make a nice addition to enhance the garden. Simple, no luxuries but pleasant and spacious rooms. Clean bathroom (wetroom), hot water. Definitely take cottage closer to sea if have the choice but the other is also lovely. Top floor offers better views, a small balcony and less insects in the evening. Seema was incredibly sweet and always available. She helped us organise transfer to station and rickshaws, also went out of her way to find a Theyyam in a nearby village at very short notice, with a great rickshaw driver who knew the dancers and was able to explain the ritual to us. Very special experience. Seema's helpers also organised a lovely informal end of year on 31 december, with dancing around a palm leaf bonfire and a sky lantern with our wishes written on it lit and floating off over the ocean. Meals are served on a small patio overlooking the sea, simple plastic table and chairs. The food was abundant and delicious. The owners eat separately not together with guests so in that sense it feels more like a hotel/B&B service than some homestays we had stayed at where all guests & owner family ate together round 1 big table. Here you can choose whether to socialise with other guests on next door table or not. Beautiful little semi-private beach just below the cottages (which are on small clifftop) where we spent each morning - swimmable for kids (current in afternoon) and shade under the plants/trees in the morning. Our one complaint and suggestion to Waves owners would be that the little beach has a fair bit of rubbish washed up on the back of it (not on the beach itself), also on the little path leading down to the beach. It would not take much to clear this and would really make a big difference! Gorgeous long main beach round the corner a few minutes walk away, lovely as of 5pm when the locals and tourists mingle to swim and play, with sunset over water. Never crowded even in peak season.

Hospitality here in waves beach resort is marvellous...food is tasty and the view is amazing...must visit and stay for week..lil bit away from city..but thats wat is the positive side of this place..its around 10 km from the city...thotadda beach is walking distance away from the resort...u must try the fish curry and mutton curry in the local restaurant..if u r non veg and foodie ...kannur is the right place for u...
