The staff at the Bangala is simply the best. The food is superb, and the ambiance is exquisite. The classic Chettinad architecture, details, and cuisine make a stay at the Bangala an education - not merely a vacation. Thank you to everyone there, for making our stay so wonderful.

Our stay at The Bangala was truly amazing, a place we would not have thought existed in India. The warmth and hospitality we received, and the keen attention of the Manager (Madam Rukmani) and the other staff made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Every little detail was looked into, from accommodation to food and also our visits to the town of Karaikodi. The owner of the hotel, Mrs Meyyappan, is really a hands on person, being there supervising her staff and ensuring everything is in order. Kudos to all at The Bangala! I would recommend this place to everyone, especially if you are looking for a peaceful and serene holiday venue

This is hospitality at its best! The host and manager personally welcome and and look after every guest. Their discerning eye for every detail - the delicious meals, the rooms, the facilities - leaves you wanting for nothing. They advice on places to visit and where to shop for antiques or local specialities; and they are happy to help you make selections at their own little shop. They make it seem like no request is too much. Even first-time guests leave as friends! Thank you! - Jayashree and Raji

This was my second stay at The Bangala, the first time was nearly a decade ago. The Bangala is a beautifully maintained property with a very insightful owner who also publishes books on the region. She is truly an excellent source for the area's history and can arrange tours that will open doors that may otherwise stay closed. The property itself is lush, with a beautiful pool, various dining and sitting areas, while the rooms are spacious and well put together. I highly recommend this place for if you are interested in visiting the Chettinad region. Keep in mind though that while Karaikkudi may be the most central town in Chettinad, it is not necessarily the town with the highest density of Chettinadu heritage. However, if you have your own transportation or if you book a tour with the hotel this can easily be reached/arranged.
