What's Good: Friendly staff
What needs to improve : Nil
Reason For Rating : Stayed at the Jonaki Kareng Hotel from 4th to 6th December 2018, it was indeed a very pleasant stay. Beautiful ambience and guest friendly staff at the hotel made our life very comfortable. The elephant as well the Jeep Safari was coordinated by the hotel staff and we did have a gala time. The rooms were neat and clean and the food was very good. Thank you all directly and indirectly involved in running of the day to day activities in the hotel and supporting the visitors to make their trip to Kaziranga memorable. ++ Khanindra Barua

We stayed here for 2 days during our visit to Kaziranga in early November. Pros: 1. Good Location- right at the entrance of the central Range from the main road 2. Value for money 3. Ticketing centre is opposite the hotel 4. Courteous Staff 5. Food was strictly ok Cons: 1. The biggest con for me was the waste disposal. They dump it right next to the property in front of the rooms creating a big health hazard. Would I go and stay there again - Probably yes.

Stayed two nights with 8 family members in 3 rooms. Location is very nice, very near the Mihimukh entrance to Kaziranga National Park, in Kohora. It is not a luxury hotel and there are no frills, but the rooms are large and clean; the bathrooms are big too. The staff is very courteous and their service is excellent. All our requests were handled efficiently. Would definitely choose this place if visiting Kaziranga again.

Stayed two nights in the first week of March 2018. The property is located in the middle of tea estate right oppsite Jeep safari office. The staff is co operative & arrange elephant ride for next day. The rooms are big as it was initially a state government guest house. Presently being run by private contractor therefore food & tariffs are not that cheap. Food is avarage & cooked to order. They need to focus on hygiene & quality of food as the rates are almost equal to a three star property in smaller cities. The freshness all around makes one forget all such minor issues of the property.

Just returned from a very memorable north east tour. One phase of the tour was a two day stay at kaziranga, for the elephant and jeep safaris. We chose to stay at jonaki kareng, as it had a decent rating and was well within my budget. To reach there, i had booked an AC Volvo operated by ASTC, from guwahati. The journey was a full 4 hrs, from khanapara fly over till almost few hundred meters from the resort. The journey was quite comfortable. The roads are quite good with very less traffic. Upon reaching kohora chariali at 3pm, they sent us a jeep to pick us up. The property/ resort is very close to the kohora range from where the jeep safari beings. Although the resort is not really big, the rooms are very spacious, neat and very well maintained. The staff is very very hospitable and well mannered. You can book the safaris through them. The charges are almost the same throughout kaziranga. Albeit the breakfast was complimentary, lunch and dinner can be pre-ordered at the reception and the cost is very nominal. Next day morning at 0545 we undertook the elephant safari and at 1330 the jeep safari. Both of the safaris are a different experience altogether. In between we had been to kaziranga orchids and bio park, which is only 4kms from the resort. There we saw some rare flora and orchids collection. There was a 20 mins assamese folk dance which was quite entertaining. But the best part was the thali lunch consisting of 20 different food items of assamese cuisine. People there are quite well mannered and helpful. Since we couldn't get a cab back to the resort, they sent their personal car to pick is up from the park and charged us nothing for it. Our overall experience with jonaki kareng was excellent and would definitely choose it for next of my visits. This is the number of Mr. RUPAM who helped us in a big way in making the stay worthwhile, +918638709583. I would definitely recommend this to everyone who are planning for a short trip to kaziranga.

The service is very good, well mannered and meticulous staff. The rooms are lusurious and very comfortable. The location of the hotel is excellent. It is about half a km from the highway, very beautiful tea gardens on both the sides. We could find some fireflies during the night. The jeep safari ticket counter is just opposite the hotel.
