What's Good: Everything was excellent.
What needs to improve : 1 intercom to avail room service would help.
Reason For Rating : The hotel is well maintained one. Hotel decoration from kitchen to individual rooms was very elegant and classy. Rooms were spacious and clean. Hotel has huge open area for kids to play around. The staffs are very helpful and we'll behaved. The manager is extremely helpful in responding to emails or calls or arranging elephant/Jeep Safari. Food is quite simple, tasteful and healthy. Excellent place to stay for a family and would surely visit again.

What's Good: The environment, the tasteful decor with the local touch, the cuisine and the spread
What needs to improve : The sometimes unresponsive toilet flush....
Reason For Rating : The hotel is perfect that I would expect when in the vicinity of a jungle. The rooms are tastefully decorated and are in sync with the environments and are clean. The food is home cooked traditional local cuisine, the spread is excellent and taste is wonderful. The staff is helpful, courteous and friendly. The owner- Mr Manju Baruah - is a very amicable and friendly person, a mine of information and is the reason why the resort is what it is today. He truly cares for the forest and the environment. They also arranged for safaris, elephant rides - all carried out by extremely helpful and knowledgeable guides. Our two day stay here was memorable and I would like to be back here soon. Thank you very much Mr Baruah, Mr Mintu and to all your staff.

i was apprehensive about this place based on many of the reviews that mentioned it as run down with non-functional bathrooms. but to our delight and relief, we liked the place a lot. its between the central and eastern (a real gem, hardly visited) gates of kaziranga, so it was easy to get to either gate. sure, the property is old but most things work well. the rooms are spacious with sufficient storage. we had to request the service staff to help with the hot water (the geyser tripped a couple of times) but they promptly fixed it. the food was good and the tea was strong. the bathrooms were functional with limited hot water. the lodge took care of our safaris and the jeep met us at the lodge. we found that if we had issues, if we spoke to the housekeeping staff they tend to get resolved much faster than speaking to the front office staff. but overall everyone is friendly and responsive. the property is large with a huge central garden with a lot of birds like an old bungalow. there aren't many modern properties near kaziranga so wild grass is a good option. if we go back to kaziranga, we will likely stay at wild grass again.

The property is located a couple of hundred meters off the main road about five kilometers away from Central zone. This is supposed to be the oldest private lodge at Kaziranga. # very smooth check in. I reached around six in the evening and the evening tea was spread in the dining room. I was offered tea and the filing up of register was done there itself. # the property is sprawling and scattered over a huge garden which is full of trees. The trees are beautifully identified and their names are displayed. A bit of stair climbing and walking is involved because the dinner is served in the gorgeously decorated dining room itself. # the food is tasty and light. They offer packed breakfast as well for the morning Safari. Very hygienic kitchen. Only snacks are delivered to rooms. # the rooms are spacious. Bathrooms are clean. Not all the switches and faucets work. It's an old property, needs a tad more maintenance. No TV if that matters. #prompt and proper billing and checkout. VERY COURTEOUS STAFFS.

Very serene place. Staff are polite. Vegetarian food tried by us was good and at reasonable price. This property has a lot of open spaces with a variety of huge trees. All trees are full of orchid plants.

Wild Grass Lodge is set near the middle of the Kaziranga game preserve. Two buildings have nine rooms each, spread out over three floors. There is a central restaurant and lounge for meals. The concept behind Wild Grass is admirable: those who want hotels will find them elsewhere. Rooms are large and so are the bathrooms. Meals are plentiful and the staff try to cater to special requests. Everyone is friendly and most helpful. Wild Grass will arrange safaris with guides to different part of Kaziranga in Maruti Gypsy vans (truly bone-shaking in forest trails) There is a patchy WiFi service and limited telephone connectivity. The place needs more careful maintenance (e.g. there is no reason for ceiling fans to keep you awake because of their noise) and upkeep. But it preserves a charm that other hotels lack.

Once it was a very good resort in tea true sense. After coming up of very good facilities they couldn't hold on to their position. Now they are running with skeleton staff. Service wasn't great earlier also. They are renovating one block. Maintenance is not upto the mark.
