It was a family off-the-beaten-path vacation. Naveen (proprietor) took great care of us and as he is the resident chef, put together good home cooked food. Things to do around the place are basically trekking in and around the place and taking time to spot some wildlife (deers, bears, birds are common, if you are lucky then a leapard). The other places around to visit are Kemmangundi, Bababudangiiri, Badra Wildlife Sanctuary. You need a 4x4 to really get up to the place and off it. While some of the high ground clearance vehicle can manage it will take some skillful driving. If you don't have any of those, then call Naveen in advance. He'll coordinate with you and come down to pick you up in his Bolero. You vehicle will need to parked in a friend's farmhouse in the village below. All in all, a great place to be to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and put your feet up and relax for a couple of days. Nice job, Naveen!

Due to long weekend during Dussehra festival, we wanted to go for a family vacation near Kemmanagundi. Though we enquired couple of home stays, we decided to go to Shivagiri Trails. We got in touch with the owner & able to reserve our room without any hassles. We were guided & picked by owner to reach the place safely. We really enjoyed our 2 day stay at Shivagiri Trails to the fullest. Room was very clean & home food served hot & delicious. As this place on the hilltop, best suited for trekking & nature walk. The place is surrounded by the forest with wildlife reserve, heard that Tiger & other wild animals are spotted very frequently.

Great getaway from the chaos of the city .We Had a wonderful experience with family and friends . Had visited the place along with children and they had a great time on the trek , Fish Spa ( Pond close to the home stay ) and bonfire . Naveen is a great host and a excellent chef . We enjoyed some great home cooked food , the room were spacious and well kept . The drive up to the home stay is a experience by itself . We Had visited in the month of August and the weather was beautiful and the Home stay was covered with Mist . The evening were nice and chill and was great sitting and chatting around the bonfire with family . Waiting to plan my next trip back

A great place to be. Wonderful climate with cross winds. Normal home food which was tasty, a good walk to relax, trek if you like and a pond in front in which you can do the fish pedicure absolutely free. This is one place which doesn't have luxury hotels, variety of foods, commercial entertainment,tv etc. But if you wanna really feel the meaning of relaxing with friends , this is the best place. Couples can have a great time together talking to each other in this beautiful place. I really doubt whether kids will like this place. Mr.Naveen the owner was an absolute delight and we really enjoyed his hospitality. We loved the jeep drive up and down the hill.

Just happened to home onto this destination while flipping through the pages of a book on places one could visit around Bengaluru. No regrets at all, but only admiration comes forth while reviewing the place. Navin, the owner of the property has put in lot of effort to maintain the place well and also look after his guests in a most personal level, making you feel totally relaxed and at home. The treks he organises for those willing to sweat it out a bit, with ofcourse all the chances of meeting some Wildlife is a must especially because he personally cooks up such delicious food after the trek. His culinary skills are worth emulating. The only thing he could do is to provide some more items of furniture like bedside tables & one odd writing table in the rooms where one could put ones mobile /cameras for charging. Overall an enjoyable two nights at Shivgiri trails and a personal thanks to Navin Boppana.
