The Narayana Palace is a short (5") walk from the main part of town and that's a good thing. It's far enough away that there are no touts, a pretty common issue in Khajuraho. The hotel is clean, the room was spacious, clean and quiet. We asked for a room with a balcony and it overlooked a green area. Room service is available; the menu is limited. The only drawback is that there is no internet service; that's available right next door for a modest charge. The best reason to stay here is the helpful staff, Deepu in particular. His English is quite good, and he is very personable and helpful. He can arrange excursions off the typical tourist track - we went to the Jain Temples and the Old Village, both very worthwhile.

Very comfortable bed and quiet stay. Room had a lot of natural light and was nicely decorated. Nicely working TV. I did not have 24 hour hot water, and the shower had very little water pressure and provided hot water for 5-10 minutes max. Toilet, bathroom sink, and blanket were a bit dirty (though sheets and pillows were clean). No WiFi. Nice staff.
