What needs to improve : Breakfast spread should be more elaborate.its very limited right now
Reason For Rating : The place seems like a royal residence converted into a resort.Fanstastic place and top marks for hospitality. Only thing to add is a bar. Currently they dont have one.

I don't understand the Indian road builders. Between Jhansi and Khajuraho the road is completely broken up in countless places and you have to find your way between the busy traffic and deep potholes. Almost nowhere people are working, so I suppose it will take a long time before the new road is finished. Anyway, after that terrible ride we were happy to see the hotel. Unfortunately that was also the only time we were really happy with this hotel. When you enter the domain it all looks nice and clean. The buildings look western, have only one floor and are surrounded by greenery. However, unlike all the other hotels on our tour, there was no one here to help us with our bags. That was not so bad, but still a big difference with the sometimes exaggerated helpfulness in other hotels and was done quickly with the help of our driver. As soon as we were at the reception, the reception clerk went looking for someone to deliver us a drink and to drag our suitcases upstairs. The lobby has potential but the beautiful marble floor was not nicely polished like elsewhere. It was even a bit dirty and dusty. The chairs had multiple stains. Not all lamps were working and some were even missing. Pieces of the stairs were broken at some places, the net of the ping-pong table at the top of the stairs was broken and a dirty trail was visible in the hallway to our room. The whole felt a bit deserted. The room was spacious but very minimalist decorated, the sheets had a stain on them and the laminate for the bathroom door had come off due to the moisture. The pool in the courtyard was a real eye-catcher, but the gym was nothing. The furniture in the restaurant was of a lower quality and showed many traces of wear and damage because the veneer at the corners had disappeared or started to come off. There was hardly any decoration. The buffet breakfast was not very extensive. The two days we were there we were always alone. We only had dinner once in their restaurant. The food was good but much too expensive. Here too we experienced the same malaise: friendly but not very motivated. There was little enthusiasm throughout the hotel, rather resignation. That may have been due to the many cancellations due to the corona crisis and uncertainty about the future. Who can tell, but unfortunately this was by far the least hotel on our tour.
Average hotel - Pleased we only stayed one night
by AbsentTraveler on
I'll start with the positive: Although dated, the room was large and clean with plenty of space and a comfortable bed. There was no WiFi at all, the password the tour group was provided with was incorrect and apparently it only works in the lobby which is really not good enough in 2020. The food selection was fine but was often cold. There is no lift, so if you have trouble with stairs then I would suggest trying to request a room with easier access. My room was on level two which was fine for me, but it was near the common area where the table tennis is which was used until quite late in the night and highlighted the poor noise isolation of the rooms.
Cold dinner spoilt the short stay

As part of a group tour, we stayed one night here for the purpose of visiting the Khajuraho temples. The hotel itself was very comfortable but the short stay was spoilt by the dinner. a few of us decided to eat a bit later & the buffet was lukewarm at best. Some of the lids on the tureens were open when they should have been closed to keep the heat in.
Good Location, Courteous Staff
by Ranjan_K_Singh on
The location of the property is quite close to the tourist attractions. While staying there, you are merely 1.2 to 3.0 kms away from the Western group of temples and Eastern/Southern group of temples in Khajuraho. The rooms are spacious. However, they could be more well appointed. The Swimming Pool was amazing, but the Gym could be improved. The restaurant serves Bundeli food apart from the Indian and Oriental cuisine. However, the food package could be made more attractive as the prices were more even after they offered us discount than the prices offered by next door Ramada, even without discount. There is a Pool Table and a Table Tennis facility that could keep the guests occupied if they decide not to venture out. The staff was very friendly and courteous. I had no cash in hand when I landed and had to give money to the cab, so they lend me some cash, which I later returned.
comfortable hotel after horrendous drive!

After 7 hours of horrendous road conditions it was a releif to find the hotel. Very good looking, western in design. Service was poor/cursory and the food was average. Quiet spacious room with usual facilities. Smart clean bathroom and everything worked as it should. Didn't have the opportunity to explore more of it's facilities due to time constraints as part of a guided tour
There is no lift, so keep this in mind when requesting a room. Would also suggest being as far away from the common area as possible.
