It's a good place nearby Mumbai. Specially from Navi Mumbai it's just 1 hour drive. The place is good also the surrounding view is good. You can also visit train valley and Morbe Dam. The place is very good during Winter. The Service is good.
The monsoon weekend could have been better
by ChandanC on
We were a group of about 18 odd people who traveled to Eden Farms last weekend. It was a family event - a re-union of sorts. All of us were looking forward to this, especially the elders. A cousin of mine had been to Eden Farm before & he recommended this place. And, given the inertia, to put in the effort to search, check availability & negotiate prices all of us said yes the moment this place was recommended. Its not very far from Mumbai, and thats a big plus. Its about 2 hours drive from Mumbai (of course, depending upon where you stay in Mumbai). One needs to take the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, and take the exit after 7.5 kilometers. Eden Farms is tagged on Google Map, so just keep following the map. Especially, after you have taken the left to this place from the old Mumbai-Pune highway, as there is not a single sign board indicating the way to Eden Farms. The parking area did not seem to be huge. I must also say that I did not explore the area well. But, it would be a good idea to reach there early & find yourself a decent parking spot. The property is divided into these bungalow type residential quarters of different sizes. We stayed at bungalow # 1, which was a 4 bedroom apartment with a living room. There is an ante-room as well, where they had stored mattresses, pillows & blankets. For the money they charge, the amenities were decent. Every room had a bathroom attached. Our bungalow did not have the provision of AC & I cannot comment if the resort is a non AC resort or there are AC rooms. My guess is that they do not have a provision for AC. Usually, I (and most of us, I believe) judge a place by the kind of bathrooms they have. I did not like what I saw. Ventilation was not proper. The liquid soap dispenser was empty. There was no water. In short, I was sulking. While I have no right to demean anything or anyone, but I am used to more hygienic, clean & better places. This was far from it. But make no mistakes, for the money they charge, you cannot even complain. The property offers some exquisite view of the nearby lake. Its boundary wall borders the lake shore. Its peaceful to just & watch the lake - almost meditative. The campus is pretty big and there are lot of places where people can walk, sit & watch the lake. Given the monsoon, things looked spectacular! It was green all over & the clouds came in low. For people who do not enjoy greenery much, Eden Farms do have provision for indoor games like TT & carrom. They do have a swimming pool - not a big one, though. The pool is more like a water storage/tanker kind of a place. There is no restriction on what you need to wear (and what not to wear) while going inside the pool. And it being small, there are always too many people/groups trying to own the pool. For obvious reasons, we decided to stay away from the pool. The food, I found, was very ordinary. The breakfast included poha & misal-pav along with tea/coffee. Eggs were available, but at an extra cost. The lunch & dinner consisted of chapati (bread), rice (plain & spiced), 2 vegetables, chicken curry, salad & dessert. Menu wise they were sorted but most dish tasted the same. I also have this habit of feeling the plates & spoons to check if they are greasy/oily. Unfortunately, I found the fresh plates oily. The tissue papers/paper napkins/serviettes are around just in case you feel the need to clean the plates for your satisfaction. If any of you are planning to go there, do remember to carry mosquito repellent. The resort had not provided us any, and the place is infested with mosquitoes. Carry the Odomos cream as well. If you are going with infants & kids (say 2-4 years old) you may want to re-plan the event. This not a kid friendly place. Not that they discourage you from bringing your kid, just that they are not prepared to handles special request for kids. And as parents, you may get anxious & may not be able to enjoy the rest of your trip. I had carried my own milk & food for my kid (2 years old). And glad, I did that. I had requested them to store the food & milk in their fridge & asked them to warm it up during lunch/dinner. Network is pathetic here. Inside the rooms there is just no network. You cannot even make a call. And, they dont have the provision of wifi as yet. Most likely, youll be cut off from the rest of world - but thats not bad after all. Forced peace of mind, no? Close to the property there is a waterfall. If you choose to walk it up, it will be some 20-30 minutes of walk. Alternatively, you can drive too. Cars wont go right up to the waterfall - youll have to park midway and then trek up (7-8 mins walk). The waterfall is simply awesome. And the day we went there, it was only us - not a single soul whom we did not know. Remember, you are going to return messy, your legs will be muddy and youll spoil that car floor. So when you take your car, please be ready to accept the car floor getting muddy. All in all a very memorable trip. Will I go to this place (Khopoli) again? The answer is a thumping yes. Will I go to Eden Farms again? The answer is Most likely, no.

There are not many hotels in Nagaon, so we stayed in this farm. The experience was awesome in itself. The room and ambiance was really nice, infrastructure is also amazing. The pricing is also not too high. Great stay!
Day trip at Eden Farms-khopoli
by zinnyp1 on
We were 3 families (including 3 children) with the intent of having a good family time post kids exams. We were pleasantly surprised by the experience. It is a nice scenic property with separate cottages. Day trip costs includes morning breakfast, lunch and evening snacks with tea. They even have a playground where we played cricket. You can also play basketball / badminton and they also have TT court. The best part was the swimming pool and we all had great fun. Our cottage was clean and spacious with a big hall and 3 separate rooms with attached bathroom/toilet. Food was nice and tasty and was prepared in local Maharashtrian style. Overall great experience. GREAT Value for Money. Would definitely recommend friends and family to visit this place.
