A tad disappointing

This is our 2nd trip to Mango huts, the first being in 2011 new year. The place is the same but the service has gone down hill a bit. Some pros: lovely place for a weekend getaway, no network, clean. Some cons: service.we had to wait for almost 1.5 hrs for a cup of tea. The first day with the evening tea, we had some snacks. 2nd day nothing. No hosekeeping done on the 2nd day. The flush in our room was leaking. The service staff was friendly, but the service was disappointing considering the saffron stays standards. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves as a group. Cant help comparing our stay to the earlier experience which was impeccable. Mango huts, pull up !!!!!
Amazing... what could have been a fairy tale ending!

This is the place you go to with friends and family when you want cut yourself from work, responsibility and concrete. Exactly as per the description given in the site... its a tranquil, rustic, and very a beautiful place. Spend time here with a group you love and the this moments becomes even more rewarding. The rooms are well appointed, every detail is looked into and provided for. Its clean, well kept and the staff is courteous and very helpful. We had a very comfortable and memorable stay here. Except for a minor improvements and an unfortunate incident. The minor improvements would be to make the bath room plumbing better looked into. We had an issue with one of the bathrooms. And all bathrooms must have some hook to hang things when inside. Now the bad experience, we lost 3 Indian currency notes. 1 2000 and 2 500. They were taken from 2 womans bag when it was in their room. We reported the matter to the manager and chief host. He did not seem to believe it. We did not want spoil the wonderful time we had with this sour incident and did not raise a stink. But warned him that the property must be very, very careful. Its not a small issue and that they get back to us immediately. Its also a word of caution to people visiting such places to be more careful. I would otherwise ended this note with- we would definitely go back more often. But now even though we will miss going there, we hope they nab the person responsible and the property owners and manager take up this issue more seriously. I wish them well.
Not worth your time and money!!!

There better properties offered at this or much lesser price by both saffron stays and Vista rooms. I am really not sure how this property even made it to saffron stays. Pros: The sit out in mango orchards is the only plus point. Cons: - Mediocre rooms, no clean towels and toiletries provided. - Food is also pretty average. Especially if you are a non vegeterian stay away from this place. The cooks are not trained enough to provide you with anything special. - AC's do not work. - Frequent power cuts and no hot water in the bathroom. - They have fitted some cheap instant geysers in all bathrooms which is enough to fill only 1 mug of hot water, forget about filling a bucket. And hot shower is a distant dream.. - Overall you will enjoy this place only if you have good company. But for that you don't have to necessarily splurge on this property. Better find yourself some other property.
Ideal for a chilled out weekend in a rustic setup with friends and family

We were a group of 2 couples and 1 kid. Mango huts is a big property that is remotely located on the Pali - Khopoli road. The last stage of interior road is not in a very good condition. Well, if you brave that much, you are rewarded with a location that is completely cut-off from the chaos in the city, set in a rustic farm place. The bunglow with 2 bedrooms is small but smart and covered most of our needs. Though there is a lot of space around, we preferred to wine and dine in the cosy living room of the bunglow. It felt comfortable with the temperature dipping outside. Late in the night, we enjoyed a bonfire before we called it a day. The caretakers are simple people but very polite and friendly and take care of all your needs. The food was homely and delicious. We had made a special request for fish and were rewarded with prawns and pomfret. In some of the reviews, it is noted that there is not much to do. Well there is a nice Lotus pond just outside the gate and many places for a simple walk or birdwatching or just relaxing amidst nature. We had a nice time playing badminton with equipment provided by the hosts. There is a bow and arrow and one could try hand at archery or just play cricket. Verdict : This is an excellent place for a weekend especially for a group. There is lots to do around. The food is great. If you like a simple, rustic place that is amidst nature, this is it. The tariff, I think is a bit stiff considering the overall services. P.S. In summer the place might get too dry. There is no Wi-Fi.
There are better weekend options

The good The care taker and his family are wonderful people. The food was simple but fresh and nice. The rooms are big and spacious and for some strange Eastons have cupboards that are locked . The bad Othing to do with the resort but the road to this place is terrible . The bungalow is on a 6 acre plot of land but unfortunately the surroundings are not done up and overall ambience is not the best. There is nothing to do there apart from a swing. They said and reconfirmed the place to be wheelchair friendly. It is NOT , ground floor is not equal to wheel chair friendly. For the entire time my father essentially had to stay inside the room.
Go for the two bedroom cottage if you're a group of friends. The other cottage is recommended for couples.
