I went to the hotel on 21 November with high hope but was very disappointed from the moment I completed the check-in formalities. We had to wait for 45 minutes before our rooms were allocated. Once I checked into my room, more surprises were waiting for me. I was told that the rooms were sanitized, but the tea cups and the pot were still there, the hot water tap was not working and even after repeated requests, no one attended to the problem. The room service was awful. There was hardly any maintenance. The only plus is the guy at the reception during the night. He was very helpful. Other than this I was felt let down & cheated. Even the Homestays at the hill stations have better service
Pathetic! Do not visit this place
by ankirimpi on
I didnt have a single good experience during my stay in this hotel. The staffs are inefficient, it took them more than an hour just for checking us in, that too they cleaned the room after we entered. No sanitization procedure was followed.Rooms are dirty, one of the bathrooms didn't have hot water, we had to manage without hot water in December. In spite of repeatedly asking them they didn't fix it or give us a different room. One light in one of the rooms didn't turn off, so we had to sleep with the lights on. We went there to celebrate our anniversary, and I will regret this for life. Even a 2 star hotel will have better service than this! I will never visit this place again or would suggest anyone to visit!
Pathetic service with joker staff
by Mukherjeedebb on
This is not at all a hotel, its a upgraded lodge with pathetic services along with full of ungroomed joker staff, who doesnt even know what is hospitality & who is guest for them. Except the room which were newly renovated everything was worst. Delay in service, no proper answer from staff, staff doesnt bother about requests & even showed rude behavior toward us. This is my first review for any of the hotel I ever stayed & this review is because of my waste of money in this property. If people wants to enjoy the surroundings of water then can travel, rooms are quiet good but small in size or else dont expect any service, care or attention from them.

Panoramic Ganga from Sunset Rooms
by FarAway499940 on
We booked a couple of Sunset Rooms on the Second Floor and the view from the very wide glass windows overlooking the Ganga with the iconic Howrah Bridge to the right and the Second Hooghly Bridge (Vidyasagar Setu) to the left was breathtakingly beautiful. Room Service, Food and House Keeping were excellent. Where the hotel lacks sorely is Maintenance!! The door sensors in the automatic lift are defunct and needs immediate repair because the doors are shutting blindly and one runs the risk of getting sandwiched between the doors!! The rooftop restaurant THE BRIDGE is a great place to hang out. One has the option of either dining inside the restaurant or al fresco. The latter option offers a majestic panoramic view of the Ganga and the gentle wobble during the switch of low to high tide is best experienced first hand on the open deck. Overall it was a pleasant experience during our 3-night stay at Floatel. P.S.: The hotel does have wheelchairs but doesn't have ramps and hence effectively there's no wheelchair access.
