A great weekend destination. The hospitality, ambiance have definitely given us a royale experience. The rajbari has been renovated completely but the rooms still have the old touch, though all the modern amenities are available. Once reached , you will be greeted in traditional bengali style then you will be given a personal attendant. The staffs are very polite and friendly. In the evening there is sondha aroti , then baul gaan and then performance by some band. Quality of food is great. For lunch and breakfast only buffet is available and for dinner also ala-carte option is there. Given the great hospitality, maintainance of the place, quality of food, it is quite expected that the place is expensive but have to mention that the food price is little too much ( price of 3 rotis -rs 280). So it will be good if that is a little more realistic. Another point which I am not sure if the rajbari authorities can do anything, the road for last 1km to reach the place is very narrow so taking any big cab like bus or traveller is not a good idea. But overall I must say the experience is awesome for us.

Everything was arranged perfectly .We arrived on Friday and on arrival we were greeted in a lovely traditional bengali way with a shank and tikka. It felt special. Our bengali lunch was ready and was very well made.Right after we had asked for a local boat trip to admire the sunset. It was truly an amazing experience seeing the sunset with a big picnic basket with hot tea and sandwiches. Lovely hospitality and a magical experience. When we were back there was a lovely aarti done by the locals of the area really feels you in a different era. VERY calming and soothing. The dinner was again very nice a good combination of continental and Indian. The next day we were joined by a larger group and that evening they surprised us with a live band which made the atmosphere lively and joyful. All and all amazing experience.I recommend the spa as well very well trained staff.A must visit.

I went for an offical trip to the Rajbari Bawali. This was one of my most memorable stays in recent times of that I can recall. Probably this is the best property outside Kolkata for a small weekend gateway, on the backdrop of almost all the properties in and around Kolkata, most of which I have personally visited. It reminded me of my stay at the Rajasthan heritage hotels which was also built under the same concept of a palace restored as a hotel. If you love bengali cuisine, food and the palate here is unparalleled. Not to exaggerate, but dining here is in no match for any hotels/restuarant in kolkata including 5 star properties. The rooms are decorated in excellent taste and are spacious, filled with curio, art and showpieces. The rooms will add on to giving you a feel of a Royal heritage property. The Royal suite is a must to stay in. The staff are ever courteous and always ready to serve you well with a smile. For the evening entertainment there is arrangement for a live music band, which adds on to the excitement and charm of your overall stay at the Rajbari Bawali. Special mention for Mrs Debashree,Mrinalini and Mary for their warmth and geniality. Rating 6 out of 5 . All the best!! Regards Niloy

A beautiful property thats been meticulously restored and fastidiously maintained. The wonderfully hospitable staff and excellent kitchen ensured our weekend stay was an absolute joy. Well worth the short drive out of the city. Highly recommended.

Bawali Rajbari is a very large mansion, it Open to tourists who want to retreat for weekend trip away from busy cities into a calm and quiet environment. The property had magnificently restored preserving it's heritage.Set in deep rustic interior of West Bengal, it presents a welcoming infrastructure. As soon as we reached, the welcome was grand. A team of dhakis started the welcome music and with tikas on forehead, & fresh lime water. The rooms are decorated with antique furniture and the bathrooms are modern, this offers comfort and royal luxury. Mineral water is provided at all times. The lush greenery of the sprawling gardens in this large property is very enjoyable. A small library was also available for the bookworms, but with less number of books. But, for a chit-chat, it was just perfect. The cuisine is really awesome, I don't have enough words how tasty and quality food they serve. In fact, it is one of the prime attractions. The meals are served in a separate dining hall in earthbake plates with banana leaves on top - a touch of old times! The food is well cooked. This thali has everything from mutton, kucchu patta prawns, channa Dalna, chatni and desserts prepared in a traditional Bengali way in one word complete zamindari thali. The entire thakur dalan was decorated with lights.Theres a open-bar counter facing the thakur dalan and it was a different experience altogether. Evening performance happen in thakur dalan, performance started with One hour performance of "BAUL songs" (traditional folk songs) by local artists and followed by jazz by a group of musicians. They had excellent chef taking care of the food counters and they serve us north Indian and continental cuisine. Breakfast was excellent and I just loved it. The AC worked very well in all the rooms where we stayed. Overall it was a great experience, warm staff and great hospitality.
