This beautiful place is far removed from most of the sounds and hustle of India. Being removed, makes it a bit tricky to find. Initially we drove past the sign on the dirt road stating Hanging Huts but realized that it actually was the correct road. A very short drive down this road and you are in paradise. You are surrounded by beauty both in nature and in the rooms. There were spectacular views of tea plantations, flowers, and the mountains. The rooms were so exquisitely decorated. The furniture is beautiful right down to the door handles! Care has been put into every detail. The rooms are super comfortable and spotlessly clean. Equal to the beauty was the service. We had tea and food brought to our room shortly after our arrival. We were exhausted having traveled from Pondicherry to get here and they made everything so comfortable. Checking into our rooms was made easy and we quickly were nourished and had our thirst quenched. The service was provided with such warm smiles. Food was delicious. The only thing sad about our stay was that we couldn't extend it. After seeing how wonderful it was, we wanted to stay longer but they were totally booked. One day was really not enough to enjoy the beauty of the area. I recommend staying more than one night and booking in advance. We would love to return someday but for now we have cherished memories.

Very good place. Away from the crowd. Overlooking mountains, tea estates and forest. Complete relaxation. Sit at the balcony and listen to the burping of birds and no other sound. See bison wandering in the tea garden. Excellent place for a weekend stay

Approaching the gate of hanging huts resort crossed my finger. but was soon happy to see the rooms and the views from the balcony. Though it was last minute choose, my family felt it was nice location and enjoyed the good food. Staff was really courteous, I could interact to certain level with my broken Tamil. Staff could exactly understand the need of guests, language wasn't a barrier. I recommend the resort for family, if you are driving down self will be fun.

We had a wonderful stay at Hanging Huts, just wish it had been longer than the one night we spent. The location is beautiful, with great views across the tea plantations (though our room had a tree outside you could still see well either side!) The rooms themselves are really lovely, with attractive wooden furniture and a large, very comfortable four poster bed. There was a TV and tea/coffee facilities. The bathroom was smart and had a huge shower. Everyone at the hotel was lovely and very friendly. We had a delicious dinner on the night we arrived, and the included breakfast was also great (and very filling). Both felt home-made, in the best possible way. When we were there it looked like additional rooms were being built, though there wasn't much activity and no noise to disturb us! We arrived in Kotagiri by bus and got a rickshaw to the hotel. It was nice being out of the town and felt very quiet and tranquil. In the morning we went for a short walk further along the road through Thappakambai for even more spectacular views.
