first of all, this was my first ayurvedic retreat. My Girlfriend and me stayed there for a total of 3 weeks. I myself have chronical pain issues and I went there to improve my health condition. Overall I was really satisfied and happy with the treatment we received and would rate it somewhere between very good and excellent (4.5stars). the room we had with a balcony in the main building was very nice and large. The only downside here is that the Muslim prayers over the massive speakers start every morning between 5 and 6 and woke us every time, there is nothing though that Chamundi can do about this. the treatments we received twice a day were good and relaxing in my opinion. they make different types of massage every 5-7 days and they were done very professionally and with great care. don't expect any kind of spa treatment though, this is an ayurvedic treatment and you will be covered with very little clothing. the food we ate was really good and prepared with fresh, seasonal and organic veggies from their own garden/farm. The food is lightly cooked with not a lot of salt obviously and can get a bit repetitive after 3 weeks, but that's just normal in my opinion so this is more an Information then something I would rate negative. dr. shila and Jibu (manager) took great care of us and we were really happy to stay there. You will have an appointment with the doctor once you arrive and then she will briefly check on you every now and then, don't expect talks with the dr. on a daily basis. also, you kind of have to trust that she will pull the strings the right way for you in the background (Medicine and Treatments), which we did by the way. The yoga sessions twice a day were always amazing and my highlights each day, Thomas (who is there until summer 18) was really a great teacher and had such a good energy. Unfortunately I couldn't improve my health condition but nevertheless, I'm happy that I gave it a shot and we would absolutely go back to the Chamundi hill resort. Thanks to everyone at Chamundi for making our stay an great overall experience.

It was my second visit to Chamundi and was once more wonderfully restorative. The Chamundi family who keep this operation going are wonderful and highly trained. As I have done Ayuverda now a few times this detox was much deeper, and the benefits are still felt many months after my return. Chamundi is very respectful of the Ayuverda principle of peace and keep only a few rooms in the beautiful palace open to guests. On my last visit to Kerala it was very short notice for them to fit me In and so I went to the highly regarded "Ayuverda yoga villa Mountain retreat" which does not come close to the experience of Chamundi. Looking forward to be able to return.

This is my third time in Chamundi and planning to come back as soon as i can. Dr Sheila , Jibu and the entire personelle made my stay one more time fantastic. I have been pampered like a baby and taken care of in all aspects. High quality and personalized treatments makes it a unique place... Dr Sheila will know what your body needs The meals were delicious as always and due to the monsoon season the place really quiet.
