We were completely amazed at this place. Never knew such a superb place existed. Family run and the food is out of this world. Good home Kerala cooking. Meals are eaten with the other guests from the 7 cottages. We met really interesting people and had meals that lasted 2-3 hours the conversation was so good.

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our tour. The cottages are spacious and the views are all very pretty. We were told about the devastation caused by the flood and it is good to see the improvements they are managing to get the homestay back for people to see and stay.

Philipkutty's is a special place. The homestay experience differentiates it significantly from staying in a hotel. Anu, Aunty, their family and staff are warm and welcoming. I stayed for 4 nights, and was charmed by their care and affability. They make you feel part of the family, am so visiting them again! Also, do not miss a cooking session with Aunty, she is a fab cook and the cuisine is worth it. On to the prosaic: Every cottage faces the Vembanad lake, with an all day view of passing houseboats. The logistics are impeccable and as good as any 5-star in Kerala. Meals are served at the communal table, but you can walk up to the main house anytime for a chat or a chai. The meal experience varies based on fellow guests, most of them are Americans or British or European, curiously I did not encounter any Indian travellers during my stay. Though there are activities like cycling, fishing, boating, I spent my time being lazy, learning to cook from Aniamma Aunty and gorging on her delectable food - particularly loved breakfasts at the jetty. The farms on the island are worth a dekko. Also suggest you circumnavigate the pretty island. I was a single woman traveller, and i found the place safe to stay. It is easy to reach, both from Kochi airport as well as Cherthala railway station.

My wife and I arrived at Anu's amazing facility on Thursday 6th Dec 18. The setting, staff, food and experience all somehow manage to exceed our high expectation. We stayed for only 2 nights yet left completely relaxed. Anu and her staff could not have been more accommodating. Most certainly recommended.

On our first visit to PhilipKuttys Farm in 2015, We had had a wonderful time. A homestay run by the very capable Aniamma and Anu. Charming, cottages, located on a small, private island on the backwaters, set the stage for a quiet and peaceful holiday. The cottages are spacious, private and are beautifully furnished. The food is amazing. A generous spread of Traditional, homestyle dishes, made with local ingredients and fresh catch. Aniamma aunty takes pride in her cooking and every meal is a feast. The two ladies are warm, caring and go the extra length to make sure you have a great time. If you are lucky, you will meet the young hosts, Philip and Anya, as well. From the verandah of your cottage, you can watch rice boats and fishing boats go by, or catch a sunrise. A boat ride offers some great birding opportunity. Last month, we were back at Philip Kuttys, to celebrate a special Birthday. We were stunned to see the results of the hard work put in by the Team. The Floods in August had done much damage and devastation. The place has been freshly painted and restored. I hugely recommend Philip Kuttys Farm for an unforgettable holiday !!
