Thoroughly enjoyed this quiet location set amongst the palm trees on a white sandy beach with turquoise clear waters. Being fully serviced with chef, house manager and other friendly staff made it even more special. Could choose what we wanted ie fish etc for meals and flexible with meal times as we had a young child in tow. Was so relaxing that we didnt even leave over the 4 days to go sightseeing! A swimming pool is coming to make it absolutely complete. Complete with watching the fishermen bringing in the nets in the morning otherwise beach was extremely clean and used by a few tourists. Would definitely return

Where to start! This is a magical place....isolated down a dirt track away from all the hassle and bustle of town. Welcomed by the magical Vinod who is just a superstar. Rooms simple but very pleasant with a mosquito net over the bed which was changed each day. We left our windows open all night and to sleep with the sound of the waves crashing onto the beach was wonderful. Plenty of wonderful wildlife around but I was surprised to see so many sea eagles swooping above us....a wonder indeed. We knew before we booked that the sea was dangerous and that swimming would be out of the question, so for us this wasn't a problem. There were fishermen using the beach and at night the lights on their boats twinkled in the distance. Vinod was the perfect host.....his demeanour was perfect for such a small place. All food was served on our own terrace looking out onto the sea. Fresh fruit every mealtime and for our special anniversary the wonderful chef cooked us a most memorable meal of fresh fish he went to market to buy for us that morning. I can not fault this place. There is a new dock being constructed around the corner, but we never heard any noise from the work and it certainly didn't spoil our romantic weekend. 3 nights of peaceful heaven.

Beautiful buildings located right above the beach with sunset views. Quiet, safe and very well maintained. It is a lovely Indian experience rather than an insulated tourist resort experience. Krishna cooks fresh delicious food. Vinod is a caring, efficient manager and a super person. The construction of the huge deep sea port, north of Karikkathi, is heart breaking!

Karikkathi is perfect for a family with young kids. LOvely, spacious villa which has been decorated in a simple but stylish way. Traditional touches but nothing for the children to break, so parents can relax and enjoy while they play. The beach is basically empty with white sand and a lovely view. The food was absolutely fantastic "home cooked" and fresh. Our children loved it and it was prepared in discussion with us so, whilst it was a "set menu" each day, we did have some input into what we would like. Vinod is an excellent host and super lovely person with great advice on sightseeing and shopping. The hotel nearby allowed us to use our pool. This was not cheap (c.12.50 per person) but the views were stunning and on one day we saw a whole school of dolphins playing in the sea below. Karikkathi is a great place and I would highly recommend it for a low key relaxing part of an Indian trip. My only worry is the construction of the port which will eventually encroach on the view and quite possibly the tranquility of the place. Get there soon to enjoy it to the full!

Our stay at the KBH was towards the end of our holiday in India and it was a fitting end! With two 18 year old boys with us, I was worried they would find it too remote and quiet but after the frenzy of A'Levels, the beauty and calmness of KBH was just what they needed. I loved the style of the cottages and the views were stunning. I felt lucky every morning waking up and looking out of the window and at night, going to sleep to the sound of the waves. My only regret was that due to the monsoon, the sea was not safe to swim in and the 5 star hotel next door wanted to charge us Rs.950 plus tax each to use their swimming pool for an hour. Vinod was a great host and looked after us very well. The food was delicious and having massages was a real treat. There were a couple of issues but nothing big enough to spoil a wonderful stay.
