What's Good: Great location, rooms, views, service and facilities
What needs to improve : Price paid for rooms was worth it given all the positives but food pricing was over the top. Definitely can be made more reasonable.
Reason For Rating : Food was expensive, however hotel was amazing, facilities great and the service excellent.

The hotel is very comfortable with excellent staff and superb food.Variety of food is very good.Great and lovely views.Comfortable rooms.Ambience in the hotel is very beautiful and in tides also.I would suggest people to check in prior weather there are weddings so that you can book according to that especially when you are on a holiday .All staff is wonderful, sincere, kind ,attentive .They always come to you asking for help which is very courteous.Sooraj in bell desk was very nice and humble to us,Akhilesh,Sushmita,Raj,Robertson, Pawan in terrace restaurant, Sandra in spa,Dr.Vidya , Sathish & Saneesh drivers were very good, Zuri in tides, Aleena, Jyoti the Duty Manager was helpful,Pradeep in Concierge helped us a lot.Trips were very good ,we enjoyed a lot. Please shoot the crows. We will definitely come again.

Worst ever welcome to the hotel. Right on the first instance of entering the hotel we were encountered with a heated issue with the security person. He just insulted us like anything which was overlooked by the whole staff which was quite surprising for us and very unexpected for a hotel of this class. The behaviour of the entrance staff was very very rude and unacceptable for any guest at any point of time. I am very disappointed with such a behaviour and demand an apology from the person. Hope the same is not repeated with any other guest at the hotel. The hotel management should very well see that skilled and courteous staff is hired and proper training is rendered in order to behave well with the guests. Very poor hospitality when it comes to communication with the guests, very unusual with any of the Leela Property stayed earlier.

We weren't staying but thought we'd come here for happy hour given the views from the terrace. I would discourage others from doing so - there were so many restrictions on happy hour that I am surprised they even pretended to have this offer, the bar staff clearly didn't actually want any customers to have a discount, proven by the fact the bar was empty anyway. And you couldn't sit on the terrace for any deals. Stay in town instead.

The hotel premises is beautiful and the views from the pool and rooms is super but this hotel needs to improve its services to be up to a 5*: - while u can sit and enjoy a beautiful sea view from the room balcony , you are constantly disturbed by passing staff in front of u on the grass and looking inside ur room. I told the reception but they couldnt do much about it. When u pay +200$ per room in India you expect some sort of privacy at least ! 2- the sink was blocked 3 times during our one week stay 3- the door of the bathroom is extremely noisy and not at all comfortable when u r sharing a room with a friend 4- no ventilation in the bathroom 5- the towels and amenities replenishment is not consistent - one day they put stuff another they dont 6- the main restaurant service is extremely slow and not very helpful

Stayed here for 4d/3n with family a couple of weeks ago. The property is well-maintained, large and boosts of breath-taking views of the Arabian Sea and there are several viewpoints for one to sit down and just stare out miles and miles across the majestic Arabian sea into the horizon. The main Kovalam and Light House beaches are just a 5-min rickshaw/tuk-tuk/taxi ride away and have pretty good restaurants serving fairly-priced seafood, meat and veg dishes. The staff is expectantly courteous and ready to help though not as warm as personable as ones I have met at Taj where I stayed previously. i found the service to be overall quite slow. Food, in-room service, room requests, etc. all took a rather long time for a 5-star hotel. On Day 1, we left the room for breakfast and sight-seeing around 9am and when we arrived in the afternoon around 2pm, our room was still unmade and uncleaned. We had to call the guest services specially and bring it their attention and have to cleaned up. The buffet breakfast selection is limited and quite boring I would say. Taste-wise, the food is decent and nothing fantastic. Again, the service was rather slow (even when the restaurant was empty). Love that the restaurant overlooked the sea and had amazing views. The Ayurvedic Spa is amazing and highly recommended. The rooms are generally tiny and one may feel claustrophobic even. There are no fans in the room, only aircons which isn't ideal. Luckily we had a sea-facing balcony room but the mosquitoes make it difficult to keep the balcony door open or sit outside for too long. The open and common areas have A TON of mosquitoes so please be equipped with mosquito-repellents. The property is perched on a small hill and one has to come down to access the semi-private beach. The beach area is clean, well-kept and great to lounge around at. Overall, we had a decent experience and the best part were the incredible, majestic views of the open Arabian sea from the property.
