The rooms are a good size with moderate but smart looking bathroom attached. However the balcony is the chief attraction here with a stupendous view of coconut palms swaying in the breeze, greenery and blue sea beyond. We watched the light change throughout the day and listened to bird calls and chattering squirrels. The location is excellent, 2-3 minutes walk to the uncrowded beach, and 4-5 minutes to the main Lighthouse beach. We had a fan-only room on the ground floor, cool enough NOT to need ac, lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves from the open door.... The staff were friendly and helpful, booking us in for a return stay after a trip to Varkala. We got a great recommendation from the manager to a cheap fish place in the nearby fishing port and a tuk tuk driver was called to take us there. Like other places calling themselves beach resort in India, it is just a hotel and it was unrealistic of previous reviewers to have expected fridges, free water, etc! The restaurant no longer operated. WiFi good.

First change the name please, this is no way a resort - no arrangement for food, not a single amenity in the room, no room service !! The rooms are okay just for an overnight sleep The only positive is - Very good view from the rooms - But when you have sit on super dirty chairs and stained linens to enjoy the view - well it is not worth it.

the hotel is in the perfect location, just off the main walkway along the beach and up a tiny hill. the area is quiet and they have access to a smaller, less crowded beach nearby. the room was clean, quiet, and the perfect size with a great balcony facing the water. the staff members were so helpful (forgot the name of the young man that was in school and was wonderful) and accommodating...always asking if everything was okay and if i needed anything. i would definitely go back, thank you!

We arrived late at night to a completely dirty room with blood stains all over the bed. Instead of offering us a different room for free, we had to pay to upgrade to the AC room, which was much better. Unfortunately, we would not stay again. Good location, but there's better out there.

I've stayed in many places and never before have I checked out early. This is a perfect example of a conveyor belt property - get them in, get their money, get them out. It trades on a view (which is good) but seems to think that's all that's needed. When we first arrived the manager asked for our names then immediately asked what time on our final day we would be checking out. Way to make people welcome! We had booked a deluxe double with balcony, and were given room 13. This turned out to be prophetic... we tried putting the aircon on but it didn't work (nobody's fault, so I'm not having a go at them for this). I assumed the batteries had gone in the remote so on our way out I advised the manager. I was met with a patronising look and asked if I'd like him to show me how to use the unit. Wow. They did try and fix it but it couldn't be done that evening as the shop wasn't open, which was fair enough. I asked if there would be a reduction in price for the night and was met with resistance and finally a "maybe". I didn't have the heart to ask why certain lights and switches didn't work, by that point. Later I tried using the shower. It was a joke. The hose didn't fit into the rail, the rail wasn't fixed properly to the rail fitting, and the doors could not be shut being that they had come off their rollers in the semi-circular unit (the doors were square?!). The result was that once the shower was on it snaked around like a mad thing and water would fly everywhere and through the gaping split in the doors, soaking the floor (there was no bath mat supplied to soak). I know this sounds like a comedy sketch but the shower was basically unusable because as soon as it was on, the showerhead had to be held with one hand and then you couldn't physically wash yourself/your hair. The shower floor filled up with water, the plughole was black with gunk (which was concerning given that it was struggling to deal with the water and I was stood in it) and the water itself was cold to tepid. I stood there and thought "hang on, I'm paying fifty quid or more for this, per night, what the hell...?!" and decided that I'd call it quits and look elsewhere. A decision I didn't regret for one second. When we left, the manager stood there with a petulant look on his face. I was charged the full price (for aircon that we didn't receive) and not once did he ask why we were leaving. He probably thought we were leaving because of the aircon. We weren't. On the plus side the bed is firm but comfortable, and the view from the balcony is good. You could stay here just for that (even though there are cheaper better views to be had in the beachside hotels) and ignore the fact that that's the one good thing about this place, but it's not exactly cheap for the locality and there is no real 'service', especially where the manager is concerned (he's rude). So yes, you could stay here for the view and nothing else, but frankly, why would you want to?
