Taj Green Cove is an amazing getaway! The rooms/cottages are scattered among the trees and this is a perfect place to escape the city or everyday life. Here you can see the most incredible sunsets on the Arabian Sea. The Resort arranges a High Tea in the evenings, so you can sit on the beach with a glass of wine and snacks and watch the sunset. The restaurants serve excellent food, many of the items are local Kerala cuisine. The Spa services were everything you would expect at a resort like this! However, his is not a place for someone with mobility issues.

Taj Kovalam is a wonderful resort with an amazing view from the swimming pool deck. Since the resort is spread-out on the hill, the resort is a multilevel space that provides privacy at many different levels. You don't need to leave the room for anything!

We were traveling as a family to Taj for 2 nights stay, i would not recommend for anyone. The check-in process was really tardy and we had to wait for 40 mins to be in our rooms. We were not even given a well packed breakfast even though we had specifically requested for certain items and quantities. Please stay at Leela and don't bother considering TAJ

My husband, infant daughter and I stayed here from January 8th to 14th. The location was lovely, the staff warm, friendly and helpful and the food outstanding. The rooms and grounds are also clean and well maintained. With a baby especially, we felt the staff's efforts in going the extra mile to help make our stay a comfortable and enjoyable one made all the difference. This didn't go unnoticed and we certainly appreciate the challenges they face and their consistency in providing a top quality service. Some of the members on this high performing team we'd like to thank are Pragati, Chef Krishna, Aniang, Venky, Karthik, Vignesh, Ammu, Eliza, Biswas, Esha, Naresh, driver Rahul, guide Aneesh to Poovar Island, the pool and jacuzzi guys, Fadiya, Sukumar and Subini. Sorry if have left anyone out. My wife is from New Delhi and remarked that she hasn't tasted Chole Bhature as good as we did here. Our compliments again to Sukumar (Pragati is probably laughing! :)). Some constructive criticism and suggestions: - there is too much plastic in use - Taj as a group needs to lead the way in sustainability and eco-friendly fittings as an industry leader domestically. Plastic bottles etc. need to be stopped as soon as possible. It will certainly pay dividends and needs to be respected by one and all. As befits a huge congolmerate there is no excuse for not doing so. Social responsibility is key in Hospitality. - extractor fans need to be installed in the bathrooms as opening the door to the bushes outside as was the case for us isn't ideal for ventilation - note taking at breakfast time wasn't upto the mark always - some orders were missed. Taj needs to provide touch pads to employees. This wasn't a big problem for us though. - the High Tea name needs to be done away for the evening rendezvous at sunset. It is a relic of the British Empire that isn't in tune with the setting or tone and should be changed with immediate effect. Calling it a Sundowner is perhaps worth considering. Lalith the GM also referred to it as a Rendezvous. - it may be an idea to have ring floats for infants in the pool area. While the arm floats were helpful, we feel that special ring floats for babies would be even better. - the play area for kids was too small. It may be an idea to relocate to another area if expansion of the current isn't possible. - the spelling of Jacuzzi was wrong in a couple of places and needs to be corrected - the staff uniforms can be upgraded to be more contemporary. An idea especially with the warm, humid weather in mind perhaps would be thin mesh polo shirts with smart trousers/shorts. - while the music in the dining area was good, it was a little repetitive and perhaps a wider mix of lounge/jazz music in the dining area would further improve the ambience. In regards to more general observations about the area itself, we found the location of the hotel a little far away from the centre of the city. This is entirely subjective though and while we couldn't walk into the centre and had to take taxis while going anywhere that were from twenty to thirty minutes in length, the tucked away location certainly lends a certain calm and tranquillity to the area which was great. Disappointingly, and this is sadly an observation all around India and not restricted to Kovalam or Kerala, people lack basic civic sense and trash (especially plastic) was a common sight in hotspots like Poovar Island and Lighthouse Beach. I shared this with the Taj staff and hope they raise the issue with local tourist board so they take steps to address the matter seriously. One hopes that issues such as infrastructure and poor roads etc. are also acted upon. You will lose tourists to other regions if this continues. All in all, the areas where they can improve on shouldn't take away from an otherwise excellent stay. I hope the GM Lalith commends his staff on a job well done and they continue to improve further. Best wishes from us all and perhaps our paths will cross again.
