What's Good: The exteriors of the property were good, though they can have better maintenance. The Location is nice.
What needs to improve : There was hardly any hot water - barely lukewarm. They can improve the interior of rooms and give it a little more appeal in terms of furnishings, etc.
Reason For Rating : The hotel should specify the types of rooms in terms that are easily understood by customers - if they use local/specific terms for different categories of room, it can lead to confusion or lack of understanding. If the hotel uses different terminology, Yatra should specify room categories in common terms (in parenthesis if required) to help customers gain clarity.

My husband went on the sunset boat ride and enjoyed. All the staff were wonderful and we went to the restaurant for dinner and had the buffet, it was fantastic!! Were greeted and had lovely conversations with a few of the staff, unfortunately didnt get there names but everyone was great. Highly recommend this place overall

Our driver told us he did not know why our agent included Kumarakom in our itinerary as it is basically a village with nothing to see or do except a 4km walk inside the Bird Sanctuary. However, we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Lakesong Resort. The grounds were neatly landscaped and well-manicured. The walkways were also kept very clean, one could hardly see any stray leaf on the ground. I loved the water canals that intersect throughout the grounds you can either walk or row yourself on the canoe to your destination in the resort. There is also a little islet where some geese wander around and are kept away from residents so they don't chase us and peck at us. Haha. The rooms were clean and very comfortable - even with 2 windows, we had complete privacy. All amenities were complete and sufficient. I was impressed with the Kohler accessories. Each Wifi password is for only 1 device, but everyone gets their own individual password. Wifi signal stayed strong everywhere we walked. There were many COMPLIMENTARY activities to use or participate in and keep the family occupied; eg canoeing, gym, cycling, swimming, indoor and outdoor games (chess, carrom, table tennis, volley ball, cricket) and best of all, a sunset cruise at 5.00pm daily. The hotel also overlooks Vembanad Lake where one can get very good photographs of sunset from the comfort of the benches or a hammock provided. Most staff were from Arunachal Pradesh young and shy, but helpful, courteous and friendly when approached. If I had any complaint, there would be only 1 item the path from the lakeside to the restaurant was not lighted, so we had to use our phone torchlight. Although we could see the restaurant, we got a bit lost as our path led us nowhere. Fortunately, a guard was doing his rounds (also in the dark) and he was able to point us in the right direction. Food was good and reasonably priced. We had the mutton roganjosh, omelette, fried cauliflower, vegetarian fried rice, and we were very satisfied with each dish. The omelette during breakfast was done to perfection. A 4-star hotel with 5-star ambience & service - a wonderful end to our tour of Kerala. Thank you for a memorable stay!

We received a very nice welcome to this hotel. The grounds and gardens are very pretty. The rooms were a good size, with a nice bathroom. The gardens had a seating area backing onto the canals, which was picturesque. You were able to borrow a canoe to paddle around the mini canal network, which looked quite fun. Dinner and breakfast was good, although we found at times there weren't enough tables for everyone. They served beer in the this hotel which was even stocked in the minibar for a reasonable price. Small groups weren't allowed to sit outside, it would have been nice to have the option. There was a free evening lake cruise on a traditional boat, which was a lovely touch to our holiday. I saw a monitor lizard, which was quite a cool surprise while wondering around the grounds! The gym wasn't air conditioned, but there were 2 treadmills and some resistance machines. The swimming pool was run down and the tiles in the pool were slimy and could do with a clean! The separate children's pool was out of action when we went. It was a little noisy around the pool area, so difficult to relax. However, plenty of sunbeds and a pool towel service.

Stayed there three nights. Its a nice property but lots of issues that seem to be ignored every day! Positives: - Housekeeping staff tried very hard to make things right. Nice decorations on the bed, fresh towels when needed. Quick laundry service. Nice! - the AC stayed on, even with the card key not in the power slot. A necessity in the warm weather! - security guard at the pier, used his flashlight to light the dark spots when we walked on the pathway. - the gardeners were working hard. - nice large lobby but stark and unfortunately unwelcoming! Opportunities for Improvement: - Front desk staff, including the lady who greets you on arrival seem to have no warmth! How hard is it to smile? - rooms are large but have basic furniture - furniture (cant call them sofas) cushions were very very dirty. Housekeeping got replacement cushions, still stained and dirty. Covered them with sheets to make acceptable. - zero electrical outlets near the bed. Got an extension chord for my CPAP but was told that the switch on the EC doesnt work! - WiFi was very very slow or just didnt connect. In 2020, this is unacceptable. - Bathrooms have new shower doors but the toilet seats are loose! Towel rack and soap stand on shower are loose. - Had to ask for glasses and a saucer to keep toiletries off the counter. - iron not available. Everything needs to go to laundry. - the swimming pool was cleaned only after our friends complained. Kerala Hospital: - the Kerala massages (my wife and I) were disappointing. Too much oil and not enough massage. My masseuse spoke no Hindi, practically no English and only Malyalli - the local language. He also hustled me for tips and positive comments. - you cant charge the massage to your room. The doctor prints out a receipt, you are escorted to the front desk. There you have to pay by cash or credit card before they will massage you! Dining Room: - breakfast is included but the spread is basic and can easily be so much better. They need to go see some of the western hotels in Kochi. - dinner was also buffet only. - the waiters were from Arunachal Pradesh. Spoke a little Hindi, practically no English and no Malyalli. A challenge but they worked hard. Recommendation: go if you get a good deal, otherwise do explore alternatives.
