What's Good: Comfort
What needs to improve : I remember we disccussed about complimentory Boat ride in lake but it was not.
Reason For Rating : Life time memory for 2 days stay at Super Luxury resort, and cost is like that. Location bang on at Vembanad Lake big view, where you can see Sun set. Few luxury rooms had direct view to lake along with small pool. All other rooms had view to Resort lake it's well maintain lake. Very big property, you will spend good amount time to go around. They provide Carts and Bicycle. Bunglow / rooms are fantastic specially bathrooms clean and well maintain. Interior is super. Except one issue Air Condition temp control was not working difficult set temperature. Amenities Swimming pool with amazing view, gym, fantastic Kerala Massage facility with lots of option starting from 1500 to 20000 :) They also arrange boat ride in lake but 50 times costlier than private boat which are available in lake. Food amazing and tasty food with lot variety, You will get buffet or ala carte. drinks also serve but bit costly. We loved Kerala food option. Breakfast ... oh wOw so many option Indian and Continental along with yummy pastries. Finally Staff and service its great, Specially Reception welcome gesture. surely some improvement scope is there. Specially Security people are really helpful.

What's Good: The property is nice.
What needs to improve : It is a rundown property and needs urgent upkeep. Rooms are outdated on facilities. The restaurant furniture is old and the staff requires adequate training to suit star category services.

What's Good: This is one of the better if not the only best property in Kumarakom. The property by size is huge!.. even cycling around, takes half an hour to peddle ride and browse the entire property from start at the reception area. It has free boating, fishing in its huge man made pond in the middle and they also do evening traditional events/shows. The resort is very well maintained, manicured and green. Privacy of every cottage rooms with regards to their balconies and open to sky shower is really great. Being an older property, we did face a couple of issues with the cottage aircon not cooling enough to the refrigerator knocking off midway through the noon. however it was promptly attended by the service technicians in a jiff. The restaurants are not very opulent, but more practical. The ala-carte food and buffet choices served is vast but nothing to brag about as all star hotels do make their best effort to serve the best local cuisine flavors and maintain the standards. The biggest convincing aspect at Zuri is their staff. Very pleasing, helpful and kind to both local Indians and foreigners likewise. All the staff, beginning from the check in at the reception, restaurant, checkout, room service and generic ware about interactions are truly to be experienced as the best yet and they do make the stay a memorable one. Wouldn't want to name any single employee as the better, since all the staff individually are the best there is. Thank you all at Zuri for making my stay a memorable one. Definitely a must for one and all to visit this property to experience one of the best hospitality and property to reckon back home.

What's Good: The Meridien in kochi and zuri in kumarakom were both very good hotels. The service in Meridien was slow but the staff were very courteous. I would advice those wanting to stay in kochi for 1 or 2 days should stay in the fort area as that gives one the real feel of old kochi. Zuri kumarakom has very good facilities. Their spa is highly recommended . However one needs to book it well in advance as it is always packed. How're ever the houseboats in Kerala ( run by the local companies like indraprastham) are a complete rip off. The houseboat we had booked set sail at 12 noon then docked for lunch at 1 30pm. Again set sail at 3pm and docked for the night at 5pm in the middle of nowhere. When we booked we thought it was an airconditioned boat but were told that the ac would work from 10pm to 6am. It became extremely hot and stifling as soon as the boat docked. I would recommend all tourists not to book these houseboats for the night. After the terrible experience we learnt that there were luxury boats available where the AC works as soon as passengers board and is on throughout the journey. Only such houseboats are recommended.

We were a bit sceptical about this trip after the floods but the moment we reached the resort all the sceptic turned into utter joy and relaxation. Kudos to the whole team at zuri who took the best care of us and specially our 3yrs old son. Ms. Rumi and all the bhaiyas (resturant staff) for playing with our son (see attached pic). He misses all of you. Request to all to plz come to kerala without any fear and if its Zuri then don't have to worry at all. After the floods the hotel industry is taking a hit so plz support them.

The resort is beautiful, clean and well maintained. The property faces a Lake and also has a large man-made Lagoon inside the resort. The pool is one of the highlights of the hotel. The other highlight for me was the meditation huts made on peninsula which is attached to the mainland via a bridge in shape of a boat.. Absolutely awesome. The property is amazing, staff were very welcoming and helpful specially Lily...she made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay.. The pedal boating , cycling and the bamboo rafting in the lagoon were good. I also got the ayurvedic massage at the Maya SPA, which was excellent. The SPA is well maintained and the staff is very knowledgeable. While the food was very good it was not very elaborate. Since choice in deserts was limited, the chef made gajjar ka halwa specially for my 15 yr. old son. Needless to say it was awesome. The stay was great value for money. Some suggestions Movement of battery cars more prompt. They have a good chef and team, so maybe they can add more choice on the Menu. There were very artistically carved wodden panels in the bathrooms, some have Hindu gods carved on them.... Maybe they can find better placement for the wodden panels. Did not really like that..

6 of us checked into Zuri, Kumarakom on Saturday, 11 August. Check in procedures were quick and the staff at the front office were courteous. We went to the restaurant for lunch. There was no buffet and we had to opt for Ala Carte. Menu options were limited especially since we were vegetarians. We were on MAPAI and lunch/ dinner was complimentary for us. We were told that there will not be a dinner buffet and hence we made the lunch complimentary. But when we came in for dinner, there was a buffet. Apparently, there were a lot of guests who checked in post lunch and hence the hotel decided to host a buffet. We were surprised but the hotel was good enough to make the dinner complimentary and charge the lunch to the room. Every time we ordered an alcoholic beverage for lunch/ dinner, we were told that the bar is far away and that it will take them 20 minutes to serve the beverage. I think they should seriously consider having a bar counter in the restaurant too. The evening chayakkada on the waterfront was good but the chaya was served cold. They should do something to ensure the beverage doesn't get so cold so soon. Bar and specialty restaurant are small and not very attractive. For the breakfast buffet, we sat under the temporary roof that started leaking because of the rain. There was no place we could move to - considering the fact that it rains in Kerala very frequently, they should consider having a proper roof for the restaurant. The day we stayed in Zuri, the resort had a very high occupancy - we kinda felt that the F&B team was not populous enough to handle the guests. The Billiards room, the pedal boating and the bamboo rafting in the lagoon were good fun. Not sure why they don't allow cycling beyond 6 PM. They could possibly relook at this. The rooms were awesome - to say the least. Good bed, Good toiletries, Excellent HK services, complimentary fresh fruits - they were amazing. They have a good property and have done excellent landscaping too - the minor issues with F&B can be addressed and if they do it, Zuri will earn more brownie points from its guests. I surely will come back. I have stayed in Taj Kumarakom and I would say the experience was comparable (I am a big Taj fan!)

We pick this resort after reading all the good review and seeing the beautiful pictures of the resort and we were very happy with our decision. We arrived a little early so we had to wait for our rooms to be ready. The cold towel and coconut served were refreshing. All the rooms had the view of the lagoon Rooms are very spacious and clean, firmness of the bed is just nice. Bathroom comes with a tub too and water pressure in the shower is excellent. The water in the sink drains pretty slow but it didn't really bothered us. There's quite a lot of complimentary activities that one can do in the lagoon during your stay (paddling boat, rafting, etc..) Yoga session every morning from 7-8am and they served afternoon tea/coffee and snack at the boat jetty from 4.30 -5pm. We feel that it was a nice touch that separates them from other resort. We had breakfast buffet, Ala carte lunch and dinner at the lime tree restaurant, there's a variety of east and western choices in the menu.Staff are always with a smile checking with us to make sure we are enjoying our food/stay. Hope we will come back here for a longer stay. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a pampered luxury stay!

I live in a town called Kottayam which is very close to where Zuri, Kumarakom is situated. So one would actually think that there's no reason for me to go and stay at this Resort which is right next door. However, after a very hectic week of work, I wanted to take a break but also ensure that I was in and around Kottayam just in case some urgent work came up. So my wife and I decided to stay in Zuri for a couple of nights. Our stay was fabulous. Zuri, Kumarakom is a Paradise on Earth. The scenic beauty of this place will bowl over anyone. Having been to the other resorts in Kumarakom, I'd rate this as THE BEST option in Kumarakom. I'd also like to thank their staff and especially their Manager, Mr. Abhilash (I believe his surname is Sukumar, not sure though) for their very pleasing hospitality. My wife and I will surely return to Zuri, Kumarakom whenever we can and we could certainly recommend this place to everyone we know.
