What needs to improve : Rooms, service, food
Reason For Rating : Old rooms with bad room service

What's Good: Location is nice
What needs to improve : Staff behaviour is non client centric especially Ms Indu in front desk who is only interested in selling upgrades to client and not interested in client comfort and experience. Made wrong commitments about upgraded cottage room that has Rats running in bathroom area. Even after complaining nothing was done.
Reason For Rating : Not at all customer friendly only interested in selling upgrade / higher category rooms to customers at the time of checkin. We reached at 12 Noon and requests for checkin as we were with Infant but we were told our category room is not ready before 3 pm but we can pay extra and checkin in cottage villas. We realised later that Hotel occupancy was really low and they could have easily given us checkin at 12. But Ms Indu at front desk was only interested in selling upgrades. Rooms maintainance is also really bad and need renovation badly. Food quality is also below average. Really disappointed with Ms Indu behaviour and non client centric behaviour.

What's Good: Comfort
What needs to improve : I remember we disccussed about complimentory Boat ride in lake but it was not.
Reason For Rating : Life time memory for 2 days stay at Super Luxury resort, and cost is like that. Location bang on at Vembanad Lake big view, where you can see Sun set. Few luxury rooms had direct view to lake along with small pool. All other rooms had view to Resort lake it's well maintain lake. Very big property, you will spend good amount time to go around. They provide Carts and Bicycle. Bunglow / rooms are fantastic specially bathrooms clean and well maintain. Interior is super. Except one issue Air Condition temp control was not working difficult set temperature. Amenities Swimming pool with amazing view, gym, fantastic Kerala Massage facility with lots of option starting from 1500 to 20000 :) They also arrange boat ride in lake but 50 times costlier than private boat which are available in lake. Food amazing and tasty food with lot variety, You will get buffet or ala carte. drinks also serve but bit costly. We loved Kerala food option. Breakfast ... oh wOw so many option Indian and Continental along with yummy pastries. Finally Staff and service its great, Specially Reception welcome gesture. surely some improvement scope is there. Specially Security people are really helpful.

What's Good: The property is nice.
What needs to improve : It is a rundown property and needs urgent upkeep. Rooms are outdated on facilities. The restaurant furniture is old and the staff requires adequate training to suit star category services.

What's Good: Seemed to be understaffed. After initial slow service it picked up on taking the matter with the management

What's Good: This is one of the better if not the only best property in Kumarakom. The property by size is huge!.. even cycling around, takes half an hour to peddle ride and browse the entire property from start at the reception area. It has free boating, fishing in its huge man made pond in the middle and they also do evening traditional events/shows. The resort is very well maintained, manicured and green. Privacy of every cottage rooms with regards to their balconies and open to sky shower is really great. Being an older property, we did face a couple of issues with the cottage aircon not cooling enough to the refrigerator knocking off midway through the noon. however it was promptly attended by the service technicians in a jiff. The restaurants are not very opulent, but more practical. The ala-carte food and buffet choices served is vast but nothing to brag about as all star hotels do make their best effort to serve the best local cuisine flavors and maintain the standards. The biggest convincing aspect at Zuri is their staff. Very pleasing, helpful and kind to both local Indians and foreigners likewise. All the staff, beginning from the check in at the reception, restaurant, checkout, room service and generic ware about interactions are truly to be experienced as the best yet and they do make the stay a memorable one. Wouldn't want to name any single employee as the better, since all the staff individually are the best there is. Thank you all at Zuri for making my stay a memorable one. Definitely a must for one and all to visit this property to experience one of the best hospitality and property to reckon back home.

What's Good: The Meridien in kochi and zuri in kumarakom were both very good hotels. The service in Meridien was slow but the staff were very courteous. I would advice those wanting to stay in kochi for 1 or 2 days should stay in the fort area as that gives one the real feel of old kochi. Zuri kumarakom has very good facilities. Their spa is highly recommended . However one needs to book it well in advance as it is always packed. How're ever the houseboats in Kerala ( run by the local companies like indraprastham) are a complete rip off. The houseboat we had booked set sail at 12 noon then docked for lunch at 1 30pm. Again set sail at 3pm and docked for the night at 5pm in the middle of nowhere. When we booked we thought it was an airconditioned boat but were told that the ac would work from 10pm to 6am. It became extremely hot and stifling as soon as the boat docked. I would recommend all tourists not to book these houseboats for the night. After the terrible experience we learnt that there were luxury boats available where the AC works as soon as passengers board and is on throughout the journey. Only such houseboats are recommended.

we love to stay in The Zuri resort, surrounded by Lagoon. excellent food, staff is very co-operative, very clean and Spa and Hot tubs were relaxing kids thoroughly enjoyed all resort amenities. every cottage has a balcony and room size are pretty big.. perfect resort for family and couple.
by Sambhav-Karnawat on January 15, 2019
This is definitely one of the beat resorts I have ever been to. The resort is built around a lagoon of the lake. The cottages have a balcony overseeing the lagoon. Its a wow view to wake up to this beautiful view. The bathtub is pretty big, the open air shower is very neat & spacious. Everything about the resort exudes luxury. If the resort is beautiful, the service is beyond exceptional. We had very good experience with the service & staff & I would specially like to mention the service offered by Lily from the Front Desk, Vishnu from the restaurant, Jerin the intern & Arun from the Spa. They all made our stay exceptional with their outstanding services. If you are going to the Spa, opt for the Ayurvedic massage & specifically ask for Arun. His technique & pressure are just right. Bonus tip : If you are a couple, do go for the Floral Indulgence Ayurvedic Massage for couples. It includes a very exclusive experience of a private jacuzzi for couple. This is definitely a must-have experience if you are on your honeymoon! Pro Tip : Take a Lagoon View Cottage at least, if not the Presidential Pool Suite. The view is definitely worth the upgrade.

Just to start with, I must say this is very expensive hotel with low quality. I booked this hotel with lagoon view, once we got our rooms we found lagoon view is actually a small dig out lake. When I complained about it, staff was happy to negotiate our upgrade which we got after paying more $$$. Upgraded room was excellent with pool only to find out it was full of mosquitos. My both kids were bitten by mosquitos and next day we had to rush them to hospital where doctor said we have to do dengue test. It destroyed our whole trip. This property is big on name and location but very poor at service and safety. I am wondering why no one in staff noticed that rooms are full of mosquitos, why no mosquito repellent? I paid over $1100 for a night just to get dengue. BTW they have activities but all of them closes after 6PM and they have boat ride but you have to pay for that and you will be disappointed to take that ride. Restaurant at property is so so with okay food. I am asking for refunds. I will not recommend anyone to stay here, if you do stay make sure you are fully ready for mosquitos and keep your expectations low.

Great resort, very well maintained certainly 5 Star. The food was great and the staff were friendly and very professional. We could have stayed inside the resort the whole weekend and still had a great time. The pool villa felt secluded and had a great view of the lake. Great getaway
by FredericM1971 on January 2, 2019
This is a large luxury resort without any character: it feels more American than Indian and is designed to process bus loads of tourists. They are big on the apperance but low on service: flowers are thrown at you at check in before you are shown to an inferior room. We complained about our room and were shown a very similar room in a noisy area at a much higher price. The check in staff was neither friendly nor helpful. The restaurant feels like a canteen and the food is average. Staff was friendly there but it was very complicated to get boiled eggs, the fruit was often finished at breakfast. It is very noisy with lots of large families with kids so at all suitable for a wedding anniversary trip as ours was. They have a beautiful well equipped gym which with no airco at 7am eventhough after 4 calls to staff. The pool is nice with splashing elephants, a nice touch. The upscale fish restaurant has no atmosphere and the kitchen smell dominated the whole room. Staff there also had a major body odor issue. The worst happened at check out: it was very slow and messy, the bill was difficult to read. They gave me a comment form sealed and addressed to the general manager. This form was opened by a member of staff who confronted me as we were leaving: this is censure. What do they have to hide ?
