This is located right on the beach which is very clean and not at all crowded. The rooms were spacious, with hot water. The outdoor furniture was good for relaxing in the mornings/evenings with a cup of tea. The landscaping was also very good. The staff was quite helpful. The TV was not working, so after dark, not much to do. Food definitely needs a lot of improvement. Breakfast was ok, but dinner was not. We only had one dinner there and went out for all the other lunches/dinner, but there are no nearby options, so it was not convenient. Also, the directions need to be clearly marked. Other than one board at the common entrance to 2 resorts, there is nothing specifying the directions to this property, for which we really need to drive some way in and the property is not visible from the main entrance road. We entered the other one since that is the only one visible from the main entrance and they directed us.

I loved the place at the first sight. Once I entered the room, I was thoroughly disappointed. The sheets were dirty. Around 10 at night, my kids spotted a group of cockroaches coming from the bed(109). When reported, the response was pathetic. They shifted us to 108 which was better but we still found 2 roaches. It's eco, insects are OK, but pests in the room... Not acceptable. We booked for 2 nights but vacated it in one night. The beach is beautiful but maintenance of rooms need to be improved big time. Also, the attitude of caretakers. You cannot charge equivalent to Royal Orchid and give a handwritten bill

We enjoyed our stay at Aura eco stay, clean enough room, friendly staff, and many families from Bangalore were guests when we visited. The beach was vast, lots of space for kids to play, though very little shade. The hotel is sourrounded by a lush park-like space, which is nice, even if we had preferred more natural vegetation. Kumta felt like it is in a period of change, and if we come in a year or more, Im sure there will be more hotels along the sea, and more "touristy". Thank you, Gopal, for making our stay so good!

If there ever was a place that resembled the mythical garden of Eden, this is it. Lush green, nestled amidst all manner of flora and at the edge of the beach. I saw so many varieties of birds during my 2 day stay at Aura that I lost count. The location is on the outskirts of Kumta town along a serene wooded path off of the main highway. The property consists of about 10-15 cottage rooms which will comfortably fit between 2-4 people. Beds are comfortable, plenty of closet space and cable tv in all rooms. Bathroom is also spacious enough and has hot water. The staff are very kind, polite to a fault and always helpful. Included breakfast is fanatastic and prepared fresh! They have a decent sized ground attached to the property which they use to organize events. The adjoining beach is clean, pristine and never crowded so almost feels like a private beach. Perfect place to relax, disconnect and immerse in the serenity of nature.

Visited during monsoon season. The beach was clean and appeared like a private beach as only fishermen going in the morning and returning later. The accommodation was clean and neat.Food was tasty and had made to order as per our request, being off-season. The staff were courteous. Would like to visit again. During the trip saw a few beaches on the west coast in other towns but none were worth considering a second visit. The only precaution -- not to venture well into water or swim, since there is no lifeguard.
