What's Good: Reception staff don't greet us when we arrive at their desk. They just look up at us and ask YES. We have to tell that them everything regarding reservation done by. And room service is very poor. and when we call them over the phone they just greet as hello that all and we have to place our request as though they are like customers. Regarding room cleanliness is average. But we went to the Harsha veg. restaurant which is attached to the hotel even there service is poor. Quality of food is OK. Next time i have to think twice about going to that hotel.

Sharon is a famous hotel in Kundapur. We as kids (around 20 years back)used to come here when visiting relatives around Kundapur during our vacations. It was famous for the South Indian thali, snacks - masala dosa, buns, goli baje and gadbad. It was a very posh hotel in those times. Last week we got a chance to stay here for 2 nights while attending a wedding. And it was a good experience. The room as well as bath were spacious and clean. The room has a big balcony. There is ample space for luggage, big wardrobe with hangers. The staff is responsive in spite of language barrier. All our requests, issues were resolved quickly. The check in and checkout was smooth. They provide breakfast coupon for 2 and one can have light breakfast and tea, coffee with it. The hotel has 24 hour check in policy. Although it has lost it's earlier glory - they haven't done major renovation in these years but the place is well maintained. So it is a still a good place to stay or eat for the price they charge.

My wife & I during our recent visit to Kundapur on soe personal work stayed in Sharon Hotel checking on 21st December 2017 & checking out on 22nd dec.As we were holding prior reservations our check in was sooth affair. The room allotted to us was spacious& well appointed..The view from the balcony of the room showed a very rich green cover. The breakfast with a discount was restricted to two Idlies & a vada with tea/coffee.The bed being very hard & a little small was uncomfortable. The linen provided needed a little improvement.Overall it was a pleasant stay & it came as a surprise that a small town like Kundapur could provide such high quality rooms. The half built & stalled fly over coming up in front of the hotel on NH66 has marred the visibility of the hotel.

This hotel is located on the highway. Parking space available. Neat and clean hotel. We were having a night halt at Kundapur enroute to Kerala. Clean comfortable big rooms with air-conditioning. Two restaurants inside the hotel. We had dinner in the vegetarian restaurant. Breakfast is also served in the same restaurant. Good food. Nice staff. Overall a good experience.

Hotel Sharon was the place where we stayed during a quickly planned trip to Kollur Mookambika temple, which is around 30 odd kilometers away from Kundapur. The hotel would be a good for a budget conscious traveller, and who may not be bothered of the latest luxuries in a hotel NOT being available there. I contacted the hotel reception a day before the trip to confirm the room availablility and book my room. The receptionist did seem to be a very busy man who just said that it was off season and rooms are available aplenty. It was only on my insistence that they opened up their e-mail and responsed to my e-mail query. I reached Kundapur by 1400Hrs, and came in for a small surprize. Right next to this hotel was a very similar hotel, with the name having too much of a resemblance. A perpetually "under construction" bridge also blocks the view of the hotel. Check-In was a very quick process. We opted for an air conditioned room, with the all inclusive price being Rs. 2106/- (all inclusive, with complimentary breakfast). The room was really big, and had the basic facilities. An LCD TV, with pretty much all South Indian channels available and there was also an intercom facility. Wi-Fi or internet facility in rooms are NOT available. The room had an attached bath room, which was also clean & tidy. Hot water availability is limited as it is generated using solar power. The room also had a wide balcony, but honestly there was nothing to view outside. On one side was the under construction road over bridge, and on the other side was another audiotorium like building. The main unit of the split air conditioner was also placed on the balcony wall. The rooms also looks a bit run down, but from what I could understand this hotel was one of the earliest hotels to be established in Kundapur. Air conditioned rooms seems to have been come up as an after thought. The hotel has two restaurants, but I only tried food from the vegetarian kitchen. The food quality & taste seemed to be average. The room service is also on the slower side. Every room has a calling bell and intercom to reach out to the room service staff placed at every floor. But invariably they are not manned on a minute to minute basis, and the calls may take more time for a response to come through. With this experience, I generally called up the reception and asked them to send up the room service staff. I checked out of the hotel the next day at around 1130Hrs after making an early morning visit to Mookambika temple. Check out again, was completed in minutes. The hotel accepts credit card payments, which made the process easier. To summarise. This hotel is not meant for a visitor who expects five star facilities, and quick service etc. But it would be a good option for the pilgrims visiting the area to visit one of the numerous temples in the area, or for the long distance drivers who need a quick over night stay and rest. The price range is reasonable, a non-AC room costs slightly above Rs. 1000/-.
