  • One of the best hidden River Island resort in Karnataka

    by ajitkatte on

One of the best Island resort in Karnataka! Serene, beautiful, amazing are just adjectives to this place. You will only hear birds chirping and nothing else. Watch the river flow or standstill. Spot a number of birds including Peacocks. Just sit back, relax and unwind and find yourself. Apart from the river view and finding solitude, there is nothing much to do here, do not expect much. Don't miss the sunrise and sunset. Pure South Indian food, tasty and sufficient for all. Slightly costlier for the amenities provided. Worth visiting once in your lifetime.

  • A heavenly place called Soans Island!

    by VikramBAREKAL on

25/2/19 - My family of 4 -myself, wife and my princesses, one is 5 and a half year old and another is just 18 months thoroughly enjoyed our two days stay on a well furnished riverside wooden cottage at this wonderful property owned by Sri Vishwas Soans - a special thanks to him. I can imagine how difficult it would be to run and manage a stay facility on a private island. My daughters roamed all around the Island guarded by two lovely guard dogs, I can't forget the love and affection they show towards guests on this heavenly place. Extend my thanks to Narayana, the boat-driver who took special care of us during our commuting. Food served here was tasty and hygienic, the staff looked calm and smiling that's all you expect on your tour. Will visit again, thanks for a great hospitality.

  • An intimate and relaxing holiday!

    by Swaroop_Gururaj on

It's a quaint and intimate place for a holiday. It's easy to see the love and effort that has gone I tastefully setting up and maintaining the place. The owner is easy to communicate with and booking was a breeze. The staff on the island are warm yet non intrusive, and they love to feed the guests which is evident in the great meals that were dished out over the couple of days we stayed. We had a holiday to remember, would definitely recommend and would love to go back!

  • A beautiful place with comfortable stay

    by vinu_g on

We stayed at water cottage room which had a very beautiful view of the river, reminded me of my stay in a boat house once in Kerala. The room is simple and elegant. Flora and fauna is at its best. And you can spot many birds like Indian peaflows, cranes, egales etc.. You will have a good company of dogs comet & shadow with few ducks when you walk around the island. The caretaker couple took real good care of us and served simple yet finger licking food.We opted for local fish which was very delicious. A special thanks to Mr. Vishwas & Mrs. Lavinia owners of the island for arranging a cake on request. And word of appreciation for keeping this island at its natural best.

  • Our recent stay in Soans Island Rsort Basrur

    by HemanthPai on

My wife ,I & one more couple stayed in the above resort on 25th of January 2018.This beautiful resort is built on a private island owned by Soans consists of three cottages with 8 rooms. While the two of the cottages are built on the land the cottage with three rooms is built on stilts with the result the rooms will be over the Varahi river flowing beneath. The rooms are built of wood/timber only & are well furnished & well appointed. The upkeep of the resort is looked after by a couple Narayan & his wife Muthu. While Narayan is proficient in rowing & in other related matters Muthu is a good cook. The lunch served consisted of two fish items, chapathis rice Veg Friid rice etc & evening we were served with onion pakodas & coffee/tea.For night dinner we had two chicken items & a fish item. The owner of the resort Mr.Vishwas Soans visited the island & had a chat with us .He also arranged for a boat ride round the island with Mr Soans also joining us for this ride.Besides giving us a panoramic view of the area it also gave us opportunity to view the sun set in all its glory.Next day we had another round of the boat ride whereby we could see beautiful sun rise.We also had a nice morning walk. After a sumptuous breakfast we checked out .This being located on an island both the entry & exit to the main land is by boat only arranged by the resort itself As this is located fin a fairly remote area the check in formalities are to be completed at Hotel Sharon another hotel belonging to the same people & they will guide if we have come in our own vehicles or arrange for the transport to the point of boarding the boat .The resort has two dogs which are guest friendly. The resort has hammocks .See -saws & a labyrinth etc for entertainments. All in all we enjoyed immensly our stay there.

  • Choose the wooden cottage - its on a river with great views.

  • Riverside wooden cottages will take you to another world

by VikramBAREKAL on March 3, 2019

  • Better to opt for the cottage on stilts.

by HemanthPai on January 29, 2018

  • The wooden cottage if you don't have kids below 2 years. Else the open bathrooms.

by ionatina on January 18, 2016

  • Pick the River cottage if you are a couple or the bigger cottage with a portico if you are a big noisy family.
