Reason For Rating : The hotel is so good that I have stayed here three times in the last 4years. It's a destination in itself. Once inside you won't like to go for sightseeing. Ambiance, conveniences, service, decor everything is top notch. The lady owner stays here and that makes a lot of difference.

Its a Charm! Its Amazing to see such decors...wall arts...artefacts...paintings...A TOTALLY VINTAGE LOOK! Greeted and taken to the room...my first thing to check is the bathroom...which was absolutely clean & Shining! the next thing to look was the amazing decor of the room...totally warm bcoz of the wooden floors...it was properly arranged with everything into it...elctric kettle to microwave, everything. it was a solo trip and i had to be sure of the safety security of mine. It should be added that it was wonderful. Amazing were the staffs...they took all the care to provide me with watever i required and to the earliest. Had a glass of of Darjeeling Tea and Istanbul Tea...believe me ...it was superb! As i was feeling bored...Mr Ravi Rai also arranged for some music and singing which took the night to a different level! Enjoyed my dinner of Pork Vindaloo (a Goan dish, again suggested by Mr Ravi) was Excellent. All the evening i was out of my room, roaming around the hotel, clicking pics and having a good tym with myself, least worried about my safety and security,HATS OFF! Would truly recommend for anyone going alone or with family to once have a stay in this BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE PALACE.

We visited this wonderfully restored heritage property with my parents and 19 month old daughter in June. As it was monsoon, most of the time the hills were shrouded in mist. The few moments when the mist cleared we could glimpse the stunning views all around the property. Its a beautifully restored heritage hotel. The rooms were decorated with period furniture, but the washrooms had all the modern amenities. The sit-outs adjoining the rooms were special. The rooms had all the features expected from a luxury hotel. The buffet spread as well as the ala carte menu were quite good. The dishes were well prepared with adequate quantity. The best part of our stay was the service provided by the hotel staff who treated us more like family rather than guests. From the manager Mr. Nygel Chowdhury who personally greeted us on arrival and made us feel welcome to Mr. Ravi Rai and his kitchen staff who fed us well. In addition the kitchen staff made special arrangemrnts for my daughter and went out of their way to help us feed our fussy eater. The trip would have been incomplete without our chauffeur Mr Gurung who not only drove us around but also kept us entertained with his anecdotes. All in all, a stay to remember.

One step into Cochrane Place, and one is immediately charmed by the quirky artefacts and a beautiful facade. The house itself is gorgeous and the new management has done just enough to add to the charm of the place. Kurseong itself is a cute little town, and there is a small balcony in which to sit and watch the world go by while drinking yummy Darjeeling tea. Food is quite good. The rooms are charming and a little bit musty but one doesn't mind as the huge window lets in plenty of fresh air. We stopped here en route from Bagdogra to Darjeeling and it was the perfect introduction to the colonial history of the area! (in fact, we found ourselves wishing we had stayed here another night instead of crowded Darjeeling but it isn't practical if one is continuing on to Sikkim). Do go here if you can!

Was travelling to Kurseong for a 4 day shoot. The cast and directorial team of about 12 of us stayed here for 6 days. I liked: The property. Has a lot of old world feel to it. Staff service was good. The waiters and house keeping guys are happy and smiling and always eager to make you experience a better one. Its clean. Rooms are big with comfortable beds. The housekeeping does a good job with making sure your room has been cleaned. Honest housekeeping staff. Left my valuables in the room without lock and key and they were intact. The rooms have an electronic safe. Hot water and clean bathrooms. Great view from the room. Tea and coffee quality Wooden flooring I didnt like: The room Nutmeg where my co actor was staying had a peculiar stench. No alcohol The breakfast menu needs some addition. The fact that you can order from the menu after 8pm. You have to choose from what has been served for buffet. Which makes the choice limited. Special mention: Nigel thanks for making our trip a memorable one. Big thank you to you. Mulligan the Bengali waiter. Was always very sweet and treated us like Gods. Rajib Rai the middle aged guy at the restaurant. Friendly and chatty.

I got the room no. 203 at ground floor. The room has a beautiful garden balcony. The hotel is very nice and in a quite place. Staff was good. The room was get suffocated at night due to ventilation problem. The breakfast & diner was very high price and very limited options. I forced them to served us a la carte menu. English menu was excellent.
