Reason For Rating : The hotel is so good that I have stayed here three times in the last 4years. It's a destination in itself. Once inside you won't like to go for sightseeing. Ambiance, conveniences, service, decor everything is top notch. The lady owner stays here and that makes a lot of difference.

Well worth a visit. One can see both the Kanchenjunga range and the siliguri plains from this place.Didnt see the cocker spaniel this time. They have a restored land rover ( don't know if it runs) and also an old Volkswagen beetle ( think it's just the body).

Overlooking the teesta plains on one side and offering views of the snow clad Himalayan peaks on the other, Cochran Place is perhaps the best place to stay near Kurseong. The place is finely maintained, professionally managed. But what perhaps stands out is the unique decor and the vibe of this place !! The place is old and has still strong British connections. The apparently Victorian style furniture, curio type collections....hand made sketches of local Flora and fauna....the elegance and beauty is overwhelming..... There is no shortage of facilities, the man will find his drink...the lady will find joy in the unique furniture of the room and the child shall revel in the play room. I personally found bliss in the little balcony of the room named Singalila. There is this little green bench, two wooden chairs and a small table...all else is lost in the beautifully grown vegetation...the bamboo shrub jumps straight out of the floor...the brick boundaries of the balcony absolutely covered by climbers, violet green and red. Highly recommended for those who love to get more from their stays..more than mere beds under a roof, an AC and room service. And don't forget to taste the tea they serve...a hundred varieties...ah!! Reading and comprehending the menu in itself is fun and enlightening !!!

This is the best place where one can see the Beautiful Mountains from top of the Hotel. It is one of the best British Colonial hotel rooms are done tastefully. The food and the service is above Par Excellence. The Scenic view is out of the Blue. It is must visit for all those who are in love with Nature.

I had passed by the vintage property (with a mounted 1968 VW Beetle) while traveling back from Darjeeling, longing for a nights stay. Finally, i decided to explore Kurseong for my 2N/3D vacation with Cochrane Palace as the base. The hotel is situated at a vantage point with views of Kanchenjunga and two of the best tea estates (Makaibari & Castleton) in close proximity. It has large clean rooms and adjoining balconies to give you an unfettered vista of the distant mountains. Distance to Kurseong railway station is between 15-20 minutes and makes a delightful walk. The restaurant serves variety of menu and food quality is good. There is an array of blended teas which one can enjoy in the form of drink. Overall a refreshing vacation.

We have visited many times both travelling on business and travelling with our guests.. Charming hotel full of cubby holes, nooks and crannies and a million bits of brick-a-brack to keep everyone entertained. The tea is best we have ever tasted and the staff are right up there for their helpfulness and smiles.. Looking forward to being back again with another mountain bike group this October 2018
