The prime Kutch attractions are wildlife sanctuaries and wetlands. The Indian Wild Ass Sanctuary spreads over an area of 4954 sq km and is crowned as the largest wildlife sanctuary in India. This is the only sanctuary, which provides a natural habitat to the Indian Wild Ass called Onager. In this sanctuary, tourists can also spot different species of invertebrates, zooplanktons, insects, crustaceans, amphibians, spiders, turtles, crocodiles, snakes and reptiles.
Interested travellers can also visit the Kutch Bustard Sanctuary or Lala–Parjan Sanctuary, which is home to birds like Common Cranes, Sandgrouses, Black Partridges, Grey Francolin, Quails and Plover. The sanctuary is the breeding centre for the Great Indian Bustard. Kutch tour is the gateway to the beautiful Banni Grasslands Reserve, which is noted for its rich biodiversity and wildlife.
