Yes! You read the caption right ! It was indeed feeling at home as you stay in "homestay". Lachen is such a place where the temperature hardly goes above 3 or 4 degrees during day... An extremely cold placr, specially the temperature at night goes upto -4 degree celcius also. Room - Do not have much expectations as this area has a very limited number of hotels / home stays which are managed by the locals only. As the climate is mostly damp therefore, it was difficult for the owners also to keep the blankets / beds warm. Therefore, complaining about the room will not be a logical option. This is the best what you can get in Lachen. Food - This is the place where they score. Absolutely delicious food in good quantity and awesome taste. The owner's family takes special care in serving and providing quality food. They also ask the tourists if we have any preferences. Service- very courteous, well behaved and helpful. One of our friends got ill in the morning before leaving for Gurudongmar Lake, and she had to stay back unfortunately. However, the family took care of her and provided her medicines, hot water and everything which a family members need. I am very thankful to them for their superior hospitality. Food - this is the

Travelled to North Sikkim in August 2018. Stayed with family at Tso Lhamo hotel for two nights. The rooms were neat and clean. The hotel has a great view of Himalayan ranges with waterfalls. The food served in hotel was delicious and was made of Organic vegetables. The staff in the hotel was very polite and their service was quick. The owner ( Mr. Sonam Wangdi ) was extremely helpful and drove us from Gangtok to Lachen and then Lachen to Gurudongmar Lake. He showed us multiple pristine natural places during the ride. Mr. Wangdi ensured comfortable and memorable ride while taking us to 18000 ft even during rainy seasons. He also ensured homely food on the way to Gurudongmar Lake. This home stay is a recommended choice for family/friends/solo travellers.

Reserved this accommodation well in advance over telephonic talk, and the owner (Mr.Sonam) of this homestay guaranteed a comfortable stay there. Knowing about my solo visit there, he guided me throughout my solo journey from siliguri to lachen and ensured that I reach Lachen safely. His family welcomed and offered me a room in 3rd floor which had views of snow peaks. Stayed there for 2 nights (though booked initially for 1 night) and felt like living with a known family at this lovely lachen village. Impressed upon their kind way of treating all guests like their own family members (a forte of people living at high altitude!) and thus giving the guests a very memorable experience. This kind of comfortable break (night stay) is must for all who wants to embark on the early morning thrilling adventure to Gurudongmar Lake. Really impressed not only the pristine beauty of the tiny village of Eastern Himalayas but also the kind hearted and warm people living in this village. This homestay is a good choice (at very affordable cost) for family and friends, ofcourse for solo travellers too!

Stayed with family on 13th March 2018 in Lachen. Got 3 rooms on the 1st floor. From the two rooms facing the roads, snow capped mountains will cheer your mood. This exquisite hamlet is set on the banks of river Lachen Chu and cocooned by snow capped mountains on all sides. Go during full moon period and the snow capped mountains will mesmerize you. Positives: 1. Great hospitality. The owner and his daughter welcomed us with the warmth of owns family. Helped us with our bags to our rooms 2. Rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained. Blankets are clean and warm. Bathrooms are clean and airy. 3. The owner cooked for us 2 meals. The food felt just like home. It was tasty, hot and in ample quantity. 4. Sufficient parking space in front of the hotel. 5. A momo and maggi joint just a few steps from the hotel which serves tasty and hot snacks. 6. Hotel is on the main road and easily locatable (same as on Google map) and accessible. Negatives: 1. The rooms do not have any room heaters. Also Lachen being a remote location, there are frequent power cuts for long durations which will make even hot water unavailable. But this is common to all hotels in Lachen and not this one in particular.

Well, Lachen is a very remote village with issues of its own and is mainly a transit point for travelling towards Gurudongmar Lake. It wouldn't be fair to expect greatness, luxury in terms of stay at this hotel especially at such prices. There's just one close to 5 star property available in Lachen and the rest are just home stays. Almost all of them are located on the Lachen main road. The 3 bed room is comfortable with a view of the mountains, hot water geyser, warm blankets and room heater at a minimal charge. The owners are friendly and serve you with hot soup, drinking water and plenty of food. The heater may prove to be insufficient for the cold temperature so they provide you with extra blankets as well. There are shops around the place to shop for water proof warm gloves, jackets or ponchs. Overall, its a small homestay with personalized service and great surroundings in the lap of the Himalayas.
