Visited Leh from 05th to 10th May 2018 with my wife and 6 year young daughter and stayed in Hotel Naro. Chosen this hotel on the basis of the trip advisor reviews. Actually finding very difficult to write down a review about our stay, as the rich hospitality we experienced can not be narrated in words. Mr. Sonam, his wife and his father greeted us like we were part of their family. They are the people who genuinely work hard to make sure that you should have an awesome stay and trip, not only in helping to chalk out your travel plans but also by giving advise on the do's and dont's to handle the rough weather of altitude. Read a lot about the discomfort people faced when in Leh/Ladakh due to less oxygen and uneasiness, but frankly none of us faced any health problem even once during our stay and this was because we did exactly what they suggested us to do. My advice will be to blindly follow the routine and schedule they suggest to get acclimatize to altitude. Mr. Sonam's father treated us like his own kids and my daughter gelled with him like her own grandfather. His daughter engaged my daughter in farming every evening and my daughter use to wait for the evening every day to spend time with her. Uncle even gave hotel's blanket to carry along when we were on our trip to Pangong lake, so that our daughter is at ease. The main guy who takes care of your comfort and entire day requirement is Rohit, who always with a smiling face takes care of you from morning tea to dinner. The entire team have just one motto, and that is to give the best of their service. Actually it is rightly written by some reviewers, that it is a home away from home. Though the weather was too rough for the people like us who stay in delhi (45+ degrees), as it was snowing 3 days out of 5 days of our stay and the temperature was near to zero. We missed Nubra valley and Khardungla Pass due to heavy snow as the route was closed, but we managed to do Pangong Lake via Changla. We stayed for 1 night in Ladakh Summer Camp at Pangong in (-15 degrees). Even the camp was nicely maintained with no litters. Both Hotel Naro and camp was very hygienic and comfortable. The food you get is home cooked delicious food (dal, subzi, roti, soup, papad, chicken) which is apt for the travel one has to do in altitude. They even served us the local cuisine in dinner on our request. It is really great that with minimum resources and constraints in supplies, they manage to give the best they can. The rooms are very comfortable and cozy and in our discussion with them they discussed they want to re-work on the architecture and would like to give better amenities to make sure that travelers feels more comfortable. Free Wifi near reception and dining area...... Really Awesome..... !!!! Great going team Naro........

Naro is an extremely homely and cosy hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and always accessible in case of any emergencies. We never once had to go looking for someone to help. We were even on first name basis with the staff by the end of our stay! The only thing you need to be prepared about is that they change the bath towels every 2 days. If you aren't okay with that, let them know. The food is good, but options are limited. We had a dinner and breakfast package, and hence this was our experience. The rooms are always cleaned and completely stocked up, though you will need to ask for a second bar of soap! The location is apt. It is a little far out from the market but still quite close. Maybe a 5-7 minute walk away. Completely quiet, with a beautiful view of the mountains! Overall, a great place to stay in with lots to do around (market).

This is a family run hotel, about a km from main market. Sonam, who is the owner manager, was extremely helpful in organizing our entire stay, permits, vehicle and sightseeing in Ladakh. All the staff provided exemplary service during our 5 night stay at Hotel Naro. Rooms are basic, but clean, comfortable and spacious. There is hot water round the clock. No central heating though. Good views of snow capped mountains from the hotel. Shanti Stupa can be walked up over 1 km in steps. We had taken MAP plan. Well prepared tasty and healthy food, with fantastic service in the restaurant. Overall a comfortable and memorable stay at Naro in Leh.
