This was our base hotel for our 2 weeks in Leh. After a week, I started calling it home away from home. After reading some of the reviews, I can say that, people treat you based on how you treat them. The staff at the Reenam is the most hospitable, professional, friendly, dedicated staff I have encountered in the Ladakh region. I have travelled the world the last 35 years and these folks have the warmest heart including the owner, Mr. Tsering. The hotel itself tries it's best to meet world 3-star standard. It offered satellite cables with English shows, laundry service, a reliable elevator, transport (by appt), a Lavazza coffee shop (1/3 the Starbucks price in India) with freshly baked pastries daily. The view from the upper floors is world class.

So guys we had to stay here for a single night. There was no one at the reception to greet us or even say a hi. I had to look around and ask one guy is he works here to which he said he did not , later came to know he worked in the cafe inside the hotel. If he wished he could have helped really ( which 99% of the ladakhi people do). Then finally after 5 to 10 mins the receptionist came , the guy who helped with luggage was dragging the luggage in way as the airport staff do (very rough) , he first took us to the wrong floor to which I asked - are you new staff ? he said no Mam I am the cook :D Now just when I reached there I asked the receptionist that I am hungry and would like the breakfast to be ready as soon as my friends reach . I told him I would have aloo ka parantha at around 11:00 am. After my friends reached , we went for breakfast at around 11:30 am , waited till 12:00 pm. Checked again why its taking too long , to which he said mam just now the potato has been boiled .. finally got our breakfast at 12:45 pm. Very poor service , bad rooms, dirty washroom. Please dont book. They dont even give a hospital or market drop for free.

Travelled to leh in last week of Oct 17 , the leh experience was made exceptional with the wonderful service that the hotel provided. We had taken roon no 43 on top floor which provided a superb view of the Leh valley, the hotel has a lift which is very helpful in the thin atmosphere of ladakh where climbing stairs is a tough task.

We stayed at Reenam Hotel during the low travel season in Leh, a time when the hotel runs at much lower patronage than usual. Most hotels/homestays here actually close when summer is over and don't reopen until April/May the next year. We're lucky that Reenam Hotel was open during our visit. Our local tour guide arranged our stay here for 6 nights which included 2 meals a day. Our room had an electric mattress pad, a standalone heater, and hot water 24/7. The last point is important because we'd stayed at another hotel during an overnight trip which only provided hot water at certain hours of the day. Renaam Hotel's staff are to be commended for looking after our every need, including checking their hot water system at early hours of the day when one morning, the water in our bathroom didn't warm up. They made delicious Indian style food which we had for breakfast and dinner every day. In the mornings, the best place to get some sun is out in the courtyard where the owner himself spends time in. Mr. Tsering, a soft spoken but knowledgeable man, is usually always around and can be counted on to give recommendations for local travel and organising taxis. One important point to note about visiting Leh is that it is unlike other popular travel destinations. It is remote, resources are scarce and general amenities are not as tourist friendly but their people are a hardworking lot and do their best to ensure a comfortable stay for guests. By Western hotel standards, Reenam Hotel would be rated around a 2.5-3.5 star. Managed expectations and an awareness of its unique geography would make for a comfortable stay. Thank you Reenam Hotel for the hospitality and we hope to visit again!
