Full disclosure- Tso Moriri is not the easiest place to get to, and its extremely cold at night. And ALL options in town are a VERY rustic. I have no doubt this is the best in town. And they are lovely lovely people running the place. Beds are a bit stiff and a few more blankets would improve the stay. But overall amazing place!

Indeed a great place to visit.good stay and grand view of the lake. It was cold and windy at night. The lake is very clean and calm. The blue colour of the lake is a great sight. If you are there before four in the evening you are lucky to see different colours of this lake.

We were made aware prior itself thats the tents are basic, so our expectations were set appropriately. The tents by themselves were fine and bathroom was clean. However, the overall upkeep of the place was bad. The lake was also too distant from the location. Hence the poor rating. I did not research much about any alternatives at Tsomoriri. Food was manageable and service was ok. We could not do any night photography either as it was unsafe to venture out as there were unfriendly stray dogs. Anyway, it was extremely cold (-5C), windy and the small stream flowing by had iced in the morning. Our Ladakh Sarai people had given us duck feather sleeping bags which kept us warm through the night as the blankets provided with the tent were barely retaining any body heat. The vista point for evening lake views during sunset time is close by about 3 km drive and it was a wonderful spot for photography. I have attached some images. We drove directly from Pangong Hermitage to Tsomoriri. Drive was by the Pangong lake edge and through couple of wildlife zones. Incredible landscapes and we also saw wild as* and Black necked cranes. We also stopped by at Rezang La memorial. We also saw couple of other small lakes on the way and they were also beautiful. While Tsomoriri lake itself was underwhelming and the tents not so good, the drive and the vistas were so good that i would encourage the adventurer in you to take this trip. Drive back from Tsomoriri to Leh was good, though nowhere as scenic as Pangong to Tsomoriri. Saw hot water springs in the cold morning weather and it was unbelievable to see boiling water bubbling out (though very small patch) of the ground close to the freezing Indus river.

Considering the remote location of the village, the camp is basic. The tents have attached loos. Overall the location is also a bit away from the lake. A great thing about the camp is that the Karzok hospital is right below the camp so incase of oxygen deprivation or altitude / other related illnesses the doctors are right there...
