The surrounding was awesome and so was the food served at this place. We really enjoyed our two nights stay. Swimming pool was small but very clean. Owner took keen interest in our comfort during our entire stay.

We booked the place initially for 2 nights but disappointingly ended up staying just one. Lonavala is known for its scenic views of the hills and valleys, its hence a relaxed weekend getaway amidst nature. The resort has been recently renovated in terms of paint, bedding etc and that is the only plus. Also if you want to live secluded in a jungle environment then perhaps you might just about like it. Thank god it was just the four of us in the resort else its a really cramped up places with small dinning hall, small pool. The pictures of outside the resort on the website shows vast open meadows and views but do not get fooled. The cottages are nestled amidst a jungle type setup one has to walk uphill quite a distance for some average hill view. The rooms donot have AIR CONDITIONING and the toilets are cramped with a very noisy flushing mechanism with a motor roaring every time you flush. There is no TV, coffee maker and at night the roof of the cottage keeps making noise of something falling from the trees. The three time meals though included in price was worth only if you like north indian homemade type food that too with very restricted number of dishes. The amount of money they are charging is worth a decent 3-4 star hotel that would offer atleast the best of room amenities and hotel facilities especially if there is no scenic view from the resort! The resort management must work to provide more to guests as scenic view is not available whereas in Lonavala there are so many better hotel options both in terms of view and amenities with slightly higher price.

I visited this place at the peak of the rains. It was also off season, so me and my wife were the only people in the entire resort. The entire duration, we were in clouds and rains. The access road is now constructed and it is easier than earlier to access this road. The staff are very friendly and highly service oriented and it was a pleasure to be served by them. The food was excellent, home made. The place can do with renovation and some doing up.

Captan's is situated quaintly in the woods away from the hustle of lonavala town. It was raining and the place was beautifully green and lush. The rooms are spacious and the food was homemade and freshly prepared. Not like the buffet spread you find in big hotels but delicious. The staff was courteous and made sure we were well looked after.

Captans resort is a below average resort in lonavala. Finding this resort is a real pain and the road leading to the resort is very narrow.Landmark is next to Upper crest. The rooms are bad. The locks wont work. Old mattress and a dull look. The food and the service has lot to be desired. Avoid
