My stay with family started with pleasant surprise of upgrade to a Lavish Suite. All the amenities were too good. Kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool and buffet. Buffet is one of the best. To add feather to above...the warm service extended by Narendrababu team and chef was too good and I would rather say one of the best. Hotel is best suited for business and family visits.

Housekeeping team member guided me to visit famous places in and around, team is well trained and aware of Madurai city. Took time after busy schedule to visit temples and historical places. Room is always clean and well maintained. Service and food was awesome. Special thanks to issac and Somu chef for care in breakfast. Raghu who always speak to in restaurant in morning to understand my stay. Housekeeping team members Vignesh and Hari, front office Amer. Will definitely come back and recommend to friends

Has all the ingredients to make a good hotel but falls short in many areas. The furniture in the reception area and adjacent bar is almost without exception seriously stained in a big way. One feels uncomfortable sitting in it. The floor in the bar needed a good vacuum - covered in crumbs. Bar service non existent. Staff seem to be controlled by a pompous hierachy making mealtimes a challenge. (Who's Omelette is this?). Good point a self service coffee machine with decent coffee. Rooms quite good though. Nice pool area, but careless repainting of chairs leaving paint on clothing. I could not reccomment this hotel.

From the moment of truth approach to the hotel premises, it is no doubt Marriott Courtyard quality. High lobby ceiling, smiling doormen. As we were traveling in a group, the group check-in was relatively efficient. There was also the unexpected welcome drink, which was a nice touch especially on a hot afternoon and after 3 hour bus ride. While we were waiting in the lobby, I wandered to the M lounge, I looked at what was offered in the glass display case. The cakes and sandwiches on display looked like it has been sitting in there for weeks. It was neither attractive nor pleasant sight for both the eyes or the belly. As we approached the lift, we were having some difficulty with the elevator control panel. I think it was too high tech and not ergonomic for most common user. I must say the superficial design is very slick, but unfortunately not very user friendly. I believe it is a Schindler brand lift. In regards to the guest room, it had all the standard amenities of what you would expect from a Courtyard branded room. Good water pressure in the wet area. Lightning fixture provided good ambience and light coverage overall. In regards to shortcomings, same annoying touchscreen buttons that werent very sensitive and difficult to decipher graphic icons for functions. The cleanliness of the room was not 100%. Everywhere felt like there was a film of dust like the room was not used for weeks. All the tabletops including the bathroom vanity has the same layer of dust. There is definitely room for better housekeeping supervisor, which it is for sure not Marriott quality control! I had a quick swim in the outdoor pool. The pool attendant was very efficient and proactive. He had offered towel service and beverage service. Two thumbs up for that. The pool area was also very nicely landscaped. It was really a highlight of the day, like the oasis in the desert. Lastly, the dinner buffet was overall very well presented. International food spread, much to my delight one of the better meals over the past 8 days in India. As of area to improve, I think management should push a little harder on training the line service staff. Many of the line staff was still having trouble with some of the technical serving skills. And there was one service lady preparing for the setting for breakfast when it was already busy for the present dinner. As for the line cook that prepares my made to order pasta, he did a relatively good job. Only problem he made a pretty big mess in the area, where the supervising cook was on-site. I thought it was a bit strange. Perhaps the head chef was off duty? Overall, it the property is relatively modern. However, the actual quality control of management may require a couple rounds of strict auditing to meet the standards of a Marriott Courtyard. Otherwise, it may stick out as a sore thumb in Marriotts portfolio.
