What's Good: Location, rooms
What needs to improve : Rude staff
Reason For Rating : Property is no doubt, one of the best in MAHABLESHWAR, but the staff over here is Pathetic. One of the worst experiences i had on my special occasion. I think i will never travel there again.

Visited the resort to bring in our wedding anniversary on Valentines Day. The place and location is dreamy with a cafe setup overlooking the valley. It is beautiful. Had our little 4yo son who enjoyed thoroughly as theres a well equipped play area for him too. The rooms are great too. Spacious bathrooms, and a backside porch with coffee tables overlooking green lawns. Just the kind of recreation you look for. Nature without compromise on the modern amenities. Already thinking of another trip here.

Stayed three nights and an amazing experience. Very scenic views each morning from a private deck overlooking the mountains. Poolside was amazing during the day and easy access to sauna/steam room as well. Nice bar with quaint inside seating near pool as well. Dinner at the Olive Garden was great (recommend the pizza)! Staff - from check-in to check-out - were very accommodating, helpful, and friendly to us as guests. Also, real short hike to beautiful Kate's Point, and an easy car ride into Old Mahabaleshwar (fun market) and other scenic hikes like Elephant Head. Whether a couple, family, or even traveling alone - def recommend Brightland!

Brightland tries to cater to the needs of every kind of tourist out there. There are various kinds of rooms (I had a hard time selecting during the booking process), each kind offering a different design, different amount of space, different views. There is a lot of variety in the rooms, something that I found was the most unique feature of the resort. Restaurant also serves a variety of cuisines which can also be seen on the buffet breakfast as well. HOW TO REACH: Off the Panchgani-Mahabaleshwar road, there are roads leading into the woods. The first one (which Google Maps happily promotes as the road with the fastest time) has some bad patches but not so much that it cannot be traversed on. Also it could be used to test a car's/motorcycle's off-roading prowess. The other road is much better (compared to the first one of course) and is also preferred by everyone. Look out for a board with the name of the resort on it. Next let's get into the review. I have broken down the review below, detailing each aspect of the resort. 1. Location : Located just next to Kates point (aka echo point, needle hole view point, elephant's head point), the views are surprisingly not so great. The views lack the "wow" effect that would actually make it worth sitting at the sit-out area for hours on end. Although, Kates point is about a 15 minute walk from the resort and is not to be missed. The resort is located far from the hustle and bustle of the town and also quite far off the highway so its quite peaceful. 2. Rooms : As I had mentioned before, there are a variety of rooms and this review is going to focus on the Orchid rooms. I have no idea how the other rooms are so you might have to hunt down other reviews for other room types. Orchid rooms, though, are quite good. There are three levels. The ground level has an attached garden to it. The middle level, which had the room we stayed in, has separate sit-out area attached to each room. Though its not entirely a private spot, as there are no barriers separating the sit-out areas. In other words, the sit-out area wasn't quite what I was looking for (I value my privacy). The views from the sit-out area are decent enough, though the road leading to Kates point is right adjacent to this part of the resort and on crowded days can be a bummer. Now lets get to the innards of the room. It is very spacious, with a king sized huge bed and a sofa-cum-bed (quite ingenious of them to have it as it saves you the time and effort of setting up an extra bed every night if an extra bed is required), and very well organized. The light switches are very interesting and I had a fun time memorizing which one does what. The room has a very modern feel to it. Sleep quality was not so good as the mattress is way too soft and I had a backache the day I was leaving because of the soft mattress. The bathroom is just superb, filled with all kind of required toiletries. Basically, bathing (and answering nature's call) was an enjoyable experience. Rooms also had decent storage space. Suffice to say the room just served its purpose and that is something very hard to achieve. So well done with the design. The biggest gripe I had was with the noise. Since the middle level also contains the game room (with a air hockey table) it was very noisy. Add to that, the soundproofing of the walls were not so good so any noise from the adjacent rooms filtered through. Apart from this though everything else was perfect and I would highly recommend the Orchid rooms. 3. Restaurant : The restaurant is a nice big place that can seat a lot of people. Food was very good. Whatever we ordered was prepared fresh and tasted really well and the quantity was also perfect. Except that its slightly on the pricier side. They serve a variety of cuisines and you just cannot go wrong with anything you order from the menu. They do not have a buffet lunch or dinner (they didn't have it when I stayed there and if there are exceptions to this then I am not aware of it). Also check out for specials which are not on the menu. Everything from the hygiene, to the decor to the food was very good. 4. Service : This is where the hotel absolutely wins. Service was brilliant and always carried out with a smile. Absolutely loved the service here. Staff are very courteous and humble and are always there to assist you. 5. Recreational facilities : The games room offered lots of games (two table tennis tables, a Foosball table, carrom, air hockey). There's a special section for kids as well. They have a swimming pool and a jacuzzi which is aptly covered during the night to keep them clean. The spa services were also very good and is highly recommended if you are looking out for a spa that is. They also have a nature walk in the morning. Also cabs are available if you want to take a tour somewhere. They have some tour packages to choose from with reasonable rates. So why a 4 out of 5 ? To me its a 4.5 but TripAdvisor doesn't like decimals so 4 it is, since, to me it is not worthy of a 5. It did have a lot of variety and a lot going in favor of it in terms of what a resort has to offer, but it just lacks that tiny bit which would really blow you away and leave you astounded with its charm and beauty. It doesn't really sound convincing, but I think its more of a feeling than anything else and is really hard to explain. Still it doesn't in any way undermine the resort and it should be one of the best, if not the best, resorts in Mahabaleshwar.

Resort was very good. Great location, a little away from city hussel-tussel. Staff was humble, services and amenities were up to the mark. Valley view room was like icing on the cake. Food was not that good when it come to taste. However, service delivery was appreciable. Highly recommended for family, friends and couples.

Memories we created at BRIGHTLAND RESORT, Mahabaleshwar We reached the resort at 4pm after a gruelling traffic-blocking- due to first long weekend of the year-drive from Bombay on 26th Jan, 2018 -Friday. The smiling faces and warm welcome of the employees at the reception and concierge services felt like an oasis in the desert of exhaustion that our gang of 5 gurls, were in. Pristine, clean and tastefully decorated, our Ivy suite was a dream come true... A jacuzzi in our bathroom and a balcony with a view of the valley and mountains beyond was a pleasant welcome surprise. A beautiful pool and an open restaurant with another view of the valley, proverbially took our breath away! An incident that takes special mention is this - When we came back to our room from the pool on the second evening of our stay, we ended up soiling the room floor, which the housekeeping staff had just cleaned, to our utter dismay and regret! I was amazed that the supervisor very nicely volunteered to come back and clean-up the mess, once we had freshened up! And they did. I give him 100 brownie points on a scoreboard of 50, for even volunteering to do that, considering how busy the staff was due to full bookings on a long weekend!! Observations - This resort has a very impressive mechanism of covering their entire pool area at night, to avoid dirt and insects from falling in it. It's so thoughtful and forward thinking. Saves so much manual effort of cleaning the pool in the mornings!! I was also mightly impressed with the wide variety of spread at breakfast every morning. The spread envelopes tastes from all geographies - parathas and chillas and chole, Poha, Pancakes, Beans and Toast with mashed potatoes, live eggs in-every-form counter, steaming Idlis, hot dosa and wada! Not to mention the cereal and dessert spread for kids of all ages!! Delicious food and services provided with warmth and a zest to serve, is something I will never forget. Not once were we made to wait or denied an exception that we may have requested as a service! Thank you BRIGHTLAND RESORT, Mahabaleshwar, for letting us create memories and an experience of a lifetime! DEFINITELY coming back for even more!!
